The Optimus G2, which we've been waiting for, has been subject to rumor after rumor. A few days ago, we finally heard something official that probably tells us the G2 will have a Snapdragon 800 processor (LG and Qualcomm stopped just short of explicitly naming the device), but tonight we've got something a little more fun.

Infamous leaker @EVLeaks has just dropped a series of still images that look to be from a video subtitled "Learning from you." They show the G2 and its rumored back-mounted controls.

Andru, PowerbyGen's hit device charger based on our favorite robot, is unquestionably the most adorable adapter you'll ever see. Since his debut last year, Andru has been joined by white and dark versions and international accessories.

Today, PowerbyGen has expanded the family with Andra, a "more graceful" alternative to "her hunkier companions."

If you're familiar with Andru, you already know what you'll be getting with Andra: a pink version of the charger, with pose-able arms, a stand, and light-up eyes.

While Instagram is busy rolling out its own "beautiful" (also "gorgeous") video functionality, the folks at Vine are busy making good on the "rapid, significant updates" they promised for this summer, releasing version 1.1 of the service's Android app today.

Responding directly to users' feedback, Vine now includes a "clear cache" option inside the app's settings. Previously, users complained that the app's cache ate up staggering amounts of space.

Earlier this evening, LG (finally) announced the successor to the Optimus G. While the phone was not explicitly named in LG's press release, we can only assume it will be the Optimus G2, the phone we've been hoping for for some time now.

"Many people don't realize … the majority of the world is not connected to the internet. How do we get cost-effective, inexpensive, and reliable connectivity to the remaining 5 or 6 billion people who don't have it?"

Chief Technical Architect Rich DeVaul poses this question in introducing the technology behind Project Loon – the newly (officially) announced project from Google X that aims to bring internet connectivity to "rural, remote, and underserviced areas," as well as those affected by natural disasters.

Having been announced just a handful of days ago (on the third), the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0's 7.4mm chassis has just barely rolled out of the factory, but – in keeping with old habits – Samsung has already posted up the open source code for the eight-inch tab's kernel. This, by the way, comes just over two weeks after kernel source code for the Tab 3 7.0 dropped.

Following up on our roundup of May's absolute best games, we're back with the month's greatest apps. As with (almost) every month, May offered plenty in the way of great new apps to try out. If you feel like the supercomputer in your pocket just isn't doing enough, any of these apps are great starting points for added functionality, productivity, or just entertainment.

As with our last roundup, we'll also include a list of honorable mentions – those are the apps that didn't quite make the short list but that you should still take a look at if you find your selection wanting.

As always, we've been busy combing through all the Play Store's latest entries during the past month. Besides publishing our larger, semi-weekly roundups, we try to separate out the very best. In the interest of saving readers time and – more importantly – money in trying out all the games we discuss each month, we assemble a shortlist of the games you can't miss. If you're looking to spice up your games library, any of these picks would be a great choice.
