If Logitech's price drop on their debut Google TV box this July wasn't enough, those looking to get their hands on the Revue without spending much money now have a pretty nice opportunity thanks to Tiger Direct. The online electronics dealer is offering refurbished units for a paltry $79.99, with free shipping included if you buy this weekend.

For those unaware, the Revue is Logitech's sole Google TV device, meant to bring the Google TV experience to your HDTV by offering easy access to web and television content, as well as a host of specially-developed apps meant for use with Google's television venture (including Netflix).

Update: Looks like YouMail has gotten to the bottom of the issue. Turns out that it was a bug in the code (a bug they were aware of, no less) and they didn't realize how severe the issue actually was. They've since corrected the issue (or are in the process of), and will be back in the Android Market shortly. For full details, check out the YouMail Blog.

YouMail, a popular (and free) visual voice mail solution, mysteriously disappeared from the Android Market today.

In case you haven't heard, Google has been offering 10 apps a day for just $0.10 each as part of a 10 day promotion to celebrate the 10 billionth download from the Android Market. For end users, this promotion has been fantastic, as it offers quality paid apps for next to nothing. In fact, the promotion has also been great for the developers behind the promoted apps, who have seen hugely increased exposure, skyrocketing purchases, and higher spots in the "Top Paid" list.

After lifting an injunction against the sale of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 last month, Australia's High Court ruled that it would not hear Apple's application for special leave to ban the Tab once again, meaning would-be 10.1 owners in Australia have only to wait a matter of days before they can get their hands on Sammy's super sleek tablet.

Following the ruling, Samsung Australia announced that the 10.1 will be available "in time for the Christmas shopping period." The manufacturer also divulged that a 16GB WiFi-only model will be available for $579, and a 16GB 3G/WiFi version will cost a cool $729 AUD.

Sprint announced earlier today that customers in San Francisco's Bay Area "can have happy holidays this year with increased 3G coverage." For those who haven't been obsessively checking the enhancement tracker on Sprint's network site, the Now Network has implemented 130  capacity upgrades in the Bay Area over the past 90 days alone, with 62 more enhancements planned for the next 90 days.

Christopher Brydon, Sprint's Northern California Area Director, had this to say about the recent improvements:

Not only can customers in the Bay Area enjoy a better network experience, they can do so without worrying about their bill.

Avast has just launched its Mobile Security app for Android, integrating the pure power of Theft Aware (see our review) with some amazing new features. If you remember, Avast swallowed up ITAgents, the small company behind Theft Aware, back in September and promised to integrate it with its upcoming software. Even in its beta state, Avast's Mobile Security looks to be a very strong contender among the dozens of other security apps floating around in the Android Market.

Galaxy-Nexus

Confirming recent rumors, a Verizon equipment guide has cropped up showing December 9th as the official launch date of Samsung's long-awaited Galaxy Nexus with VZW.

For those who have forgotten why they should be excited about the Galaxy Nexus, here are it's awesome specs one more time:

  • TI OMAP 4460 Dual-core processor at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB RAM
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.65" SAMOLED display at 1280x720
  • NFC Capability
  • 4G LTE Connectivity
  • A slender frame measuring 5.33"x2.67"x0.37"
  • 1080p Video recording

The Galaxy Nexus is certainly a beastly phone, and looks like it will be well worth the wait when Verizon customers can get their hands on the device in just a couple of days.
