It's the end of another week, and we're in the final days before taxes are due here in the U.S. Today's list of app sales has a couple of goodies, so check those out in bold below.
Chromebooks are everywhere nowadays it seems, with many options to fit most needs. If you're a fan of larger laptops with those bigger screens, but don't want to pay much, then you may want to consider this deal. Amazon is currently offering the Asus C523NA 15.6" Chromebook for the low price of $209.99. For many, the main draw will be the 15.6" display, even though it's a mere 768p. Not ideal, but the C523NA is a budget Chromebook after all. Other specs include an Intel Celeron N3350 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of eMMC storage. None of this is surprising considering the $269.99 MSRP.Cheap, big laptops have their appeal, so if you want to get one for yourself, a family member, or friend, you can get started at the buy link below.Buy: Amazon
Nova Launcher just received a new update, v6.1, which adds the awesome and coveted dark mode for the Google Discover pane. It also gets numeric dots for notification badges without the need for TeslaUnread, an undo bar when removing desktop items, and more.
The vast majority of people out there don't know much about network security, if at all, but thankfully there are talented groups and individuals out there who are on constant lookout for flaws and vulnerabilities. Each security protocol we've seen has had some kind of issue (sometimes crippling), but the still-young Wi-Fi Protected Access protocol version 3, aka WPA3, remains vulnerable to attack, thanks to some pretty serious design flaws.
Net neutrality is still an important topic here in the US and if you've been following the news around it, then you probably heard about the Save the Internet Act getting halfway to law, passing the House of Representatives in a 232-190 vote.
JBL's huge and waterproof Bluetooth speaker, the Boombox, is currently on sale over on Amazon for $342.58. This beast is meant for those who want a powerful, portable way to listen to music, something that can withstand a lot of punishment. Even from just looking at it, the Boombox looks like it fits that bill.Sporting a massive 20,000mAh battery, JBL claims that the Boombox can go for 24 hours "without missing a beat." Being IPX7 rated, it can handle even the craziest parties, regardless of weather, and still push out hefty bass to keep things going. You can find the Boombox on sale over on B&H and from JBL directly, but it's a bit more at about $360, so Amazon offering it for $343 is the better deal. Buy link is below if you're interested.Buy: Amazon
April keeps trucking along and we've come to another Wednesday. That means it's time for another round of app sales. Today's list features Reigns: Game of Thrones, which you can find in bold below.
Phone deals just keep popping up. Take this one, for instance — Amazon is currently offering the Prime Exclusive 64GB/4GB Moto G6 for the low price of $179.99, a substantial $120 off. That's pretty good.Obviously, a caveat for some of you here is that this is the Prime Exclusive model, meaning that it comes with Amazon apps preinstalled. For some, that's not a big deal, but keep it in mind. This is one of the best deals on a Moto G6 yet, beating the one we posted last week and even the last Prime Exclusive discount (which was on the 32GB/3GB variant). If you want to know more about the G6, be sure to check out our review here. Otherwise, if you're in need of a cheap new phone and can deal with the Prime Exclusive stuff, then you can get started via the buy link below. All three color options are available for this price at time of writing.Buy: Amazon
Another week is upon us, so here's a list of app sales to get you started. We have some notable items in bold today, so be looking for those. Otherwise, I hope you'll stop by again on Wednesday for more.
The first week of April is wrapping up, so here's one last round of app sales to get the weekend started. Today's list includes the mobile edition of Thumper, a fantastic rhythm game that I thoroughly enjoy and recommend. Otherwise, it's the usual sort of stuff.
If you're in need of a cheap phone, the Moto G line is almost always a great option. The venerable series has practically redefined what it means to have a good budget phone here in the US, so when we see discounts off the already low prices, we pay attention. Right now, both the Moto G6 and G6 Play have dropped to $159.99 and $149.99, respectively, at several retailers. Both models come with 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, though the Play has a slightly lower HD+ resolution on its 5.7" display to the G6's FHD+, but it sports a larger 4,000mAh battery. Neither will be performance beasts, but for the money, you'll have a hard time beating the overall value. And at time of writing, you're not even limited to just the black color option for the G6. As I said, you have a few options on where to buy from, all of which will be listed below. Just take your pick and which phone you want — we recommend spending the extra $10 to get the G6, but that decision is ultimately up to you. Best Buy was also included up until a little bit ago, but the company raised the prices back up to normal. However, you can still get a G6 for 0 or a G6 Play for 0 from there if you activate today.Buy: Amazon (G6), (G6 Play); B&H (G6), (G6 Play); Motorola (G6), (G6 Play)
If you find that today's largest microSD cards just aren't enough for you, SanDisk has you covered. The company just announced the 1TB Extreme at MWC, a ridiculous amount of storage in a tiny, tiny form factor. It won't come cheap, though, ringing it at a staggering $449.99 MSRP.
We here at AP are champing at the bit waiting for news on Android Q. Those of us who plan to install the beta have our Pixels ready, eagerly anticipating some kind of announcement from Google. Meanwhile, it looks like the company is planning to introduce a dedicated app to submit feedback for those of us who will take the plunge. Appropriately named Android Beta Feedback, this will be the preferred means by which you can report bugs, submit feature requests, and other notes for the Android team.
When it comes to Bluetooth speakers, we as consumers have a ton of options to choose from. But if you're on a budget yet still want a great audio experience, Anker's Soundcore brand usually fits the bill. This deal, if you've been looking for some 360° stereo sound for your home or office, is one to pay attention to. Amazon is currently offering a two-pack of the Soundcore Flare for just $69.99, about $50 off the regular price. For reference, one Flare will run you $60, so getting a second unit for another ten bucks is a steal. This speaker features some EQ and driver tweaks for some extra bass, a ring of LEDs that react to the rhythm of your music, and IPX7 water-resistance. You can also pair up two units in stereo mode.Though we didn't get a chance to review the Flare here on AP, it seems that a lot of people like these speakers. If you're interested, grab your two-pack from the link below and have fun.Buy: Amazon
Today's app sales roundup is here, and I can't say it's all that interesting. Guess it's just that time of year. Hopefully Friday will be more interesting.
A new month is upon us, and if you're like me, it's one of your least favorite days to be on the internet. Some might find April Fool's Day to be fun, while others of us do not. Regardless of your feelings on the matter, we have a lot of apps on sale for you today.
Phone deals sure are common these days, but this one is one of the better ones, I think. Best Buy is currently offering a brand new 64GB Pixel 2 XL for $399.99, a price that we'd usually only see on refurbs. This being Best Buy, however, the model in question is the Verizon variant, which means a locked bootloader.
March is just about over, so here's the last app sales roundup for the month. Today's list has some goodies, which I've marked in bold, but there's plenty else here, too. Feel free to check out what's on offer today, enjoy your weekend, and I'll see you all in April.
