Sony may not be doing so well in the smartphone business, likely due in part to how pricey its devices are. As we typically see with the Xperia line as time goes on, there's another sale on the XZ2 Premium over on Amazon. You can score yours for $599.99, $300 off the quite high MSRP.Luckily, the XZ2 Premium is no slouch. It packs top-of-the-line specs for 2018: a 5.8" 4K LCD, a Snapdragon 845, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage plus a microSD slot, 19MP+12MP rear cameras, and a large 3,540mAh battery. The last deal we saw for this phone was $50 more back in February, so it's safe to say we'll start seeing the price drop more and more, especially as retailers try to clear out stock. Buy link is below, and only the black model is on sale.Buy: Amazon
Some two years after saying it wasn't in the cards, Simple announced today that it has added support for Samsung Pay. If you own a Samsung phone or compatible watch, you can add your Simple card to the app and get paying contactless-ly.
A new Chrome OS stable version is always fun. This is v74, which brings with it, among other things, audio output support for Linux applications (yay) and USB camera support for the Android Camera app. You can find the full changelog below.
Google has added support for Japanese in Lens, following it being available in Korean for some time (which appeared sometime last summer). In case you didn't know, Lens is basically the successor to Goggles from way back in the day. It uses your camera to gather contextual information on what you're looking at, letting you do a variety of things from translate street signs to shop for something you saw.

What's this, another update from OnePlus for the 5/5T? And a decently-sized one at that. This is Open Beta 31 and 29, respectively, which brings some nice improvements to the UX and overall.
Welcome to the final app sales roundup for the month of April. Time has flown by and we're coming up on Google I/O — so that's where that sense of impending doom is coming from. Anyway, today's list is very large to send off April, so have fun. And apologies for this being so late, but better that than not at all... right?
Telegram X went through a period of radio silence, but it's recently returned with a vengeance. As we near the end of April, the app just received a big update to the stable branch – previously available (mostly) in the beta versions – a fairly typical thing when X is in healthy development. The list of additions and changes is, as expected, massive, so I'll do my best to point out the important things.
Not too long ago, Microsoft announced phone screen mirroring between Windows 10 and Android. It's a neat feature, letting you effectively have your Android apps on your computer. It was previously limited to a handful of devices and select testers, but now the tech giant is opening it up to more devices.
Since launch, we've seen progressively better and better sales on the Google Home Hub, the company's first-party Assistant smart display. But this deal over on Rakuten is definitely one of the best ones yet. Right now, with a coupon code, you can get a Home Hub and a Home Mini for just $79. That's pretty good.
Here we are early on this Saturday morning with another OnePlus update, this time for the 5/5T. OxygenOS 9.0.5 will begin rolling out to both phones over the coming days, bringing with it the April security patch and some bug fixes.
While we wait and get excited for 2019's smartphone selection, it's a great time to pick up last year's offerings for cheap. Take this deal for example, where B&H is asking $399 for Asus' excellent Zenfone 5Z. That's $100 off the MSRP.
One of the latest phones in Motorola's popular G line is now available at T-Mobile. You can pick up your own Moto G7 Power in stores or online for $9.50 per month (with $9.50 down), or $237.50 full price, according to Tmo. Metro customers will be able to get theirs next week on April 29.
Welcome, all, to the final app sales roundup of the week. Today's list doesn't star too much extraordinary – though, if you're into the retrowave/synthwave/outrun/80's culture like I am, the Nice Bowling game looks fun – so be sure to head back to Monday's and Wednesday's to check if anything there you like is still on sale.
No one would blame you for feeling overwhelmed by the breadth of smart home products available; there's something for basically anything. This deal is for those of you who want a smart controller for your irrigation system: the RainMachine Touch HD-12 is on sale for $189 on Amazon, a savings of $70 off.I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about these products, but they sure do get Artem excited. This one in particular is the 2019 model — it's certified for the EPA's WaterSense conversation guidelines and it adjusts itself in real-time based on the weather. All data is stored locally, so the Touch HD-12 continues to work even if your Wi-Fi network goes down. You also get access to NOAA, METNO, Wunderground, OpenWeatherMap, and NetAtmo for weather data. For controls, you can access it from your Android or iOS device and even your computer. It also integrates with Alexa, Assistant, Nest, Wink, and SmartThings via IFTTT. You can grab yours at the buy link below.Buy: Amazon
Nvidia news and rumors are always exciting, even here in the Android space. The company best known for its graphics cards earned a lot of positive vibes in our neck of the woods with the Shield (Portable), Shield Tablets, and of course, the Shield TV. Because of this good reputation, whenever news about a new Shield product emerge, people (read: me) get excited. XDA found in some digging that Nvidia could possibly be working on a 2-in-1 tablet.
After missing its planned mark, LG is finally rolling out Pie for the V35 (ThinQ) in South Korea, which hopefully means that the rest of the world will see it in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all of you who participated in the discussion regarding my idea for cooldown periods for apps that frequently appear on sale. I value each piece of input and encouragement, so again, thank you. I still haven't made a decision yet, so the discussion is still open if you'd like to voice your opinion or your ideas on how to improve these app sales roundups, especially in regard to apps that appear very frequently.
It's not often that we discuss iOS here on Android Police, for very obvious reasons, but sometimes, it's worth it. Whether it's discussing a new feature that could impact us Android folk or Google bringing one of its apps to the platform, we don't live in a vacuum. On that note, that brings us to today's news: Google Fit is coming to iOS.
Without a doubt, one of the best Pixel features is Call Screen. Ever since its announcement at last year's Pixel 3 event, and its subsequent arrival on my Pixel 2 XL, I've really wanted to see it work with Google Voice. However, since those calls ring through the Voice app itself, Call Screen never has a chance to activate. So, what if we route those calls through the main Phone app? Turns out that works — you can get Call Screen on your Voice calls!
