Telegram is finally adding a revamped, full suite of customization options for chat backgrounds. Whether you want solid colors, patterns, or motion effects, this update adds them. While most new versions have several additions or improvements, Telegram is keeping things simple with v5.3.

Back at IFA last year, Lenovo announced that it would be releasing a premium Chromebook, which got a bunch of us excited. Dubbed the Yoga Chromebook, it impressed with its clean visuals and promising spec list and price tag. The base i3/1080p model was available back in October for a mere $599.99, but the 4K configuration was yet to be seen. Well, Lenovo sneakily put it up for purchase, along with a new 1080p variant.

If you're looking for a new pair of solid Bluetooth headphones, and you happen to be a Rakuten member (or considering becoming one), then this deal is one to pay attention to. Normally $339.95, Sony's excellent WH-1000XM3 are now $289.95 with a coupon code, making them just a tad cheaper than we saw last week.

Coming as no surprise, Verizon quietly launched the Nokia 2 V today. We've heard about this already, and even saw the kernel source code released. More importantly, however, you can pick up this little phone for just $69.99 from Big Red.

Oh, boy, that's not good. Due to a critical error with the last Open Beta that ended up soft-bricking some 5 and 5T devices, OnePlus is completely pulling the new build for those phones and for the 6/6T. Oops.

The end of January is nigh upon us, but that also means it's time for another round of app sales. Today's list is much shorter than Monday's; better yet, it still has a couple things worth noting.

OnePlus has been steadily improving OxygenOS on the 6 and 6T thanks to a regular stream of new Open Beta versions. Today marks the arrival of yet another, right before the end of January. As always, the changelog is below.

Chromebooks are quite plentiful these days, giving consumers a wide variety of choices for an affordable laptop. If you're looking to save some money on one of the mid-rangers, today is your lucky day. Right now, you can save $100 on a Samsung Chromebook Plus. This is the refreshed V2 and you have your choice between the Celeron 3965Y and Core m3 variants, which are currently $399.99 and $499.99, respectively. Both come with 2-in-1 functionality, stylus support, and 4GB of RAM. However, the m3 version has double the storage of the 32GB Celeron model. I'll include all the pertinent links below so that you can have the info you need to make your decision. Obviously, the ideal option is the m3 variant, which is only $100 more, but that's up to you.Buy: Amazon (Celeron), (m3), Best Buy (Celeron), (m3)

Monday has rolled around again and January is just about over. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are ready for some more app sales — today's list is quite long. Amongst the selection, you'll find a few bolded games of note, including some of Forever Entertainment's titles and the Majesty games (which are some of my favorite things to play on Android). Have fun and be sure to pop by for January's last roundup.

As we get ready for MWC 2019, let's take a moment to reflect back on the phones of yesteryear and bask in their ever-falling prices. One of the more forgettable ones from 2018 was LG's G7, a capable device on its own merit despite its failure to amaze. Right now, Amazon and B&H are both selling the black model for $479.99, a nice $270 off the MSRP.The G7 ThinQ, as it's properly called, bears a laughably stupid name, but top-tier 2018 specs all the same. The 6.1" QHD+ notched display is large and bright, the Snapdragon 845 powers through any task, and the quad DAC setup is sure to please anyone's ears. It's also unlocked and works on all U.S. carriers. Like most flagship devices, the G7 didn't launch with the most appealing pricetag, but that's what makes deals like this so much better. This is better than the last time we saw this phone go on sale. Again, this deal is only good for the black G7 (though, the silver version is $20 more on B&H). It's not Prime-eligible over on Amazon, but B&H is throwing in a free clear case and free expedited shipping if you go that route. As always, I'll include links to both below.Buy: Amazon, B&H

If you've been looking for a capable smartwatch that won't break the bank, then this deal is for you. Right now, you can grab a Samsung Gear Sport for $159.99, a whopping $120 off. This deal is available at Best Buy and on Amazon. The Gear Sport is quite similar to its predecessor, the Gear S3. It's a bit slimmer, but the smaller size means that it will fit on a wider array of wrist sizes. Unfortunately, like the Galaxy Watch, it lacks MST support for Samsung Pay, meaning that you're left with using NFC if you want to pay with your watch. And like the Gear S3, the Gear Sport received a substantial update not too long ago, bringing some welcome UI changes and improvements. You have your pick of retailer on this deal — you also have a choice between the black and blue bands. It's eligible for Prime over on Amazon, if that's relevant to you. Regardless, you can get started at either of the buy links below.Buy: Amazon, Best Buy

Friday is here and the last full week of January is almost over. As you head into the weekend, be sure to take a few minutes to browse through the app sales I have for you today — there's even a notable game, Zenge, in the free list.

Over the weekend, a lot of you perked up your proverbial ears to a deal we posted about the Moto X4. Fry's was selling it for $189.99, which isn't a bad price. But here comes B&H to steal the thunder with an even better offer: use a $25 off coupon and you can have a Moto X4 for just 5. Yep, you read that right.

Another round of app sales is here to brighten up your Wednesday. Today's list is much smaller, so it should be easier for you to find something that you might like. Nothing in bold today, unfortunately, but that's how it goes sometimes.

In a truly red letter day, Target has announced that it is, finally, going to support contactless payments at checkout. Long, long overdue, this news obviously means that you can use Google, Samsung, and Apple Pay, as well as NFC cards, at the payment terminals.

Smartwatches aren't quite the product category that some thought (or hoped) they would be, but that hasn't stopped some companies from continuing to expand and improve their offerings. Take Mobvoi, the makers of the TicWatch line, for example, which has just announced pricing and immediate availability for its new TicWatch E2 and TicWatch S2.Powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 and Wear OS, both watches share quite a bit in common. They have the same sensors, GPS capabilities, batteries, water-resistance rating, and the newly-announced TicMotion suite of AI-powered fitness features. They both sport a 5 ATM water-resistance rating, which means that the watches can survive underwater up to 50m. Neither has NFC for use with Google Pay.Left: TicWatch E2; Right: TicWatch S2

Gear S3 owners were greeted with a large software update for their watches today. Not only does the ~300MB file mark the arrival of Tizen v4, but it adds a host of other improvements and changes. We'll take a look through the changelog first.

In the last couple of years, we've seen some real strides toward the truly wireless earbud dream — one that I do not share, but I digress. Doubtless, Apple kicked off the fervor with the Airpods, but that hasn't stopped some other legitimately good options from popping up. We've looked at few here at AP, but this one is still in testing. Anker's Zolo Liberty Air normally goes for $79.99, but with a coupon, you grab a pair for $63.99.Anker is proud of the secure fit and graphene technology that the Liberty Air uses, which supposedly provides clear audio, which also applies to calls. Battery life is said to be about five hours, but your mileage may vary (as always). They also feature touch controls and, like other similar products, they charge in their case.To get this lower price, enter the code SDCAIR02 at checkout. You can get started at the purchase link below.Buy: Amazon

Telegram continues to build on the success of its mobile apps, offering everyone additional quality of life improvements more often than not. The v5.2 update is no different, bringing options like group permissions, a chance to undo accidental chat deletions, and a few others.

Another week has begun and it's a holiday for us in the U.S. Whether you're off work or not, I have a list of app sales to help you get your week started. Have fun.
