Poweramp is one of the most popular music players on Android, with over 10 million downloads and a feature set that blows the default media player out of the water.

Now, after four months of waiting, an update has been released that strengthens it even further, bringing support for action bars in Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich. HTC One X users will be glad to hear that they can now use Poweramp on their phones as well, although HTC Sound Enhancement doesn't work on the One X just yet.

Sony has had a busy morning so far, announcing no fewer than four new Android smartphones. The newly announced Xperia miro, tipo and tipo dual will all ship with Android 4.0, despite each having underwhelming specifications, whilst the HSPA version of the Xperia ion is still set to ship with Android 2.3, but as the name suggests it will be lacking 4G.

The Xperia mio packs a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 320, Android 4.0 and a 5MP rear camera.

Running a little short on storage space with all those apps and music tracks on your phone? Today might be a good time to rectify that problem, as you can pick up a SanDisk 64GB microSDXC card up from Best Buy for $49.99. Compared to Amazon's price of $74, that saves you around 30%.

Not only will you get more than enough storage space for all of your apps and media content, you will also be able to take advantage of faster transfer speeds, as the 64GB microSD card is a class 6 device, offering speeds of up to 30MB/s.

There are many cheap Android phones on the market today. Most of these devices will have a single core processor clocked at around 1GHz, and there won't be an awful lot of RAM to speak of either. This remains true of the HTC One V, but the latest budget phone to come out of the Taiwanese company has one key difference: it's running the latest version of Android.

That's right, you can finally own a budget device that doesn't ship with a version of Android that was released 2 years ago!

A few months after it went live in France, Google Play Movies is now available in neighboring Spain, as it continues to slowly make its way across Europe.

Google Play announced the launch on its Google+ page, noting that people in Spain can now buy popular titles such as Fuga de Cerebros 2 and El Sueño de Iván through the store.

Although there's no time frame for the launch of Play Movies in other parts of Europe, you can be sure that the service will be on its way to countries such as Germany and Italy fairly soon.

At a time where phone networks in the UK are fighting over 4G spectrum, it's easy to forget that not everyone is willing, or able, to spend £40 a month on a fast mobile phone - just ask those public sector workers who are striking over pensions today.

With this in mind, it shouldn't come as a surprise that O2 is attempting to broaden its smartphone lineup by adding Huawei's Ascend Y100 into the mix.

One of the things that we didn't have chance to cover at Samsung's Galaxy S III event last week was the presence of Flipboard on all of the demonstration units on show. Naturally, this has led to speculation that the release of Flipboard for the rest of the Android community may be coming soon - Flipboard's website says that it "will be available on select Android mobile phones" in the coming months - but you won't have to wait and find out, as the .apk file has already been taken from the Galaxy S III and shared for other Android users to install.

After months of rumors and teasers, we finally got the chance to see the Samsung Galaxy S III first hand last night, at the company's Unpacked 2012 event in Earl's Court, London. Following many (many) free drinks and canapés, Suzi Perry - who hosted the popular Gadget Show here in the UK - took to the stage to kick off proceedings and introduce JK Shin, President of Samsung's mobile division, who officially introduced the new Galaxy to us.
