After the successful landing of NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars this month, space exploration is once again at the forefront of everyone's minds. While the rover goes about its mission on the red planet, there are plenty of other exciting projects happening closer to home.

One of those projects is the CubeSat Launch initiative (CSLI), in which nanosatellites built by teams across the United States are hitching a ride into orbit on rockets planned for upcoming launches.

Are you looking for a new game to fill your daily commute? Pebble Universe might just fit the bill. The physics-based puzzle game has made its way over to Android from iOS, and offers 25 levels of gameplay for free.

The storyline behind the game is quite straight forward: you're responsible for a group of Pebbles (naturally), who are being attacked by soot-lump creatures wanting to eat delicious Pebble meat.

Now, in order to protect themselves against the evil creatures above, the Pebbles take advantage of the fact that their hats explode when they bump into each other.

Gameloft has released the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming Android game, Wild Blood. The game will be the first Gameloft title based on the Unreal Engine, and the action-packed, blood-filled trailer certainly doesn't disappoint.

This is the second trailer to be released for the game, with a teaser trailer being unveiled a few weeks ago. Gameloft has promised that the game will be coming "very soon" to Android. It will likely be followed by the company's other title based on the Unreal Engine, March of Heroes.

ooVoo, the popular mobile video call app, has been updated to v1.3.4, bringing a number of new features and changes for Android users.

The most noticeable addition in the latest version is that users can now hold 4-way video calls right from their phones, taking advantage of fast Wi-fi and LTE connections to display multiple video streams all at once. This gives the service a big advantage against competitors such as Skype, which only allows free users to chat with one person at a time.

cyanogenmod-cm10-nightlies-will-be-available-beginning-tonight

When CyanogenMod 9.0 stable was released a couple of weeks ago, the list of supported devices was dominated by Samsung and Sony Ericsson phones. Fortunately, the team has been hard at work since then to bring the popular firmware to as many devices as possible, and HTC EVO 3D owners will be glad to know that they can download a nightly build of CM 9 right now.

The build is currently available only for GSM models of the device, with CDMA remaining unsupported at the moment.

fcc-tf500t

Update: Unfortunately, neither ASUS nor NVIDIA had anything of value to say about this device:

NVIDIA's response:

Officially, no comment on unannounced products.

ASUS' response:

First I have heard of it, especially since the next tablets up on the roadmap are Windows based.

As many readers have already pointed out in the comments, perhaps this will be a Windows RT tablet. Time will tell.

This is a curious one; a mysterious ASUS tablet has shown up out of the blue at the FCC today, with the model name 'TF500T'.

How often do you hear this? Sony has started to roll out Ice Cream Sandwich to the Xperia P ahead of schedule, beating its own date of August 19th.

According to a post on the Sony Mobile blog, the upgrade process is beginning today and continuing globally "over the next few weeks", so if you're an Xperia P owner, keep an eye out for any upgrade notifications on your phone. When ICS is ready for your device, you will be alerted, but Sony says that some users may have to use their PC Companion software to perform the update.
