ICS Update For Verizon's Droid Xyboard 8.2 Is Ready To Go, Should Begin Rolling Out Soon

Right after Motorola announces that the Xyboard's update would be pushed back, this happens. Verizon just updated the 8.2's support docs with details of an impending update, which includes Android 4.0.

The update also brings a handful of other fixes, including:

+ Includes the latest Motorola USB driver to allow Xyboard to connect to a computer to transfer files.
+ Securely refresh your Corporate Email account with the native email client.
+ Faster Browsing Experience
+ Improved network connectivity

I'm not really a big car enthusiast, but there's just something that everyone can appreciate about drifting. Even in games, hitting the curve and sliding it through is a killer feeling, but it's one that even the best of racing games don't put a lot of focus on. That's where Drift Mania Championship 2 changes things - it's all about the drift, baby.

As you can see, not only does this game put you behind the wheel and let you slide all over the place, but it looks fantastic doing so. It also offers fully upgradable and customizable cars (including intricate details, like suspension), along with 13 drift circuits 60 achievements, and 48 various unlockable performance upgrades - and that's just in career mode!

Major Update Rolled Out To NFL '12, Except You Probably Can't Use It

I just want to put this on the table: I don't like football. It's not that I don't understand it - I just find it boring. And silly. I tried to get into it once, and that just wasn't happening. But, I also realize that many of you lovely folks do like football. So this is for you. Well, kind of.

The NFL pushed a pretty major update to its "NFL '12" app last night that brings some pretty nice features for anyone who uses the app:

What's in this version:

- All new Thursday Night Football Xtra companion experience
- Completely redesigned Videos section (Android tablet only)
- Access to the NFL.com/Live look-in show for TNF (Android tablet only)
- Ability to share all your favorite News
- Added more stats
- Bug fixes

AT&T Announces A Handful Of New Galaxy Devices: Express, Rugby Pro, And Tab 2 10.1

Wow, AT&T. Instead of sending multiple device announcements on different days, the company just announced a few new smartphones and a tablet for its 4G LTE network, all of which are made by Samsung. Let's take a look, shall we?

The Galaxy Express seems to be sort of a tweener device. Not in terms of "your child between the ages of 10 and 12 will love it!" but in that it appears to be right in the middle of the Galaxy S III and some mid-range devices.

Jetpack Joyride Drops Amazon Appstore Exclusivity, Now Available For All In the Play Store

Back in August, Halfbrick Studios brought their hit iOS game Jetpack Joyride over to the Android side. The problem was, though, you could only get it from the Amazon Appstore. That's not the case any longer, as the game has finally abandoned its exclusive period in the Appstore and is now available in the Play Store.

For those who may not have seen our previous coverage of the app or read Jeremiah's review (spoiler: he loved it), a little insight may be in order. For starters, there are only three words you need to know: Machine gun jetpack. If that's not enough, then here are two more: robot dragons.

Live Video Streaming In Verizon's NFL Mobile App Is Free Until October 1

Big Red customers who just can't enough of the ol' pigskin, listen up: from now until October 1st, you can catch all the NFL action for free on your mobile with Verizon's NFL Mobile app. The service, which normally costs around $5 a month, allows you to stream live NFL content directly to your phone so you never miss a beat.

And, considering the app was just updated to add support for Jelly Bean and high-res screens, you can rest assured that it will work just fine on your newly updated Galaxy Nexus.

Acer Silently Begins Pushing Jelly Bean To The Iconia Tab A700

Wouldn't you know it - not long after ASUS has to delay the Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad Infinity, Acer silently starts pushing the update to the Iconia Tab A700.

Considering there are zero details at this time, we have no idea what changes have been made, but hopefully Acer found a way to make this HD tablet run a little smoother this go around.

Transformer Pad Infinity Jelly Bean Update Delayed In The US And Canada - Should Be Available 'Early Next Week'

Just yesterday, ASUS promised both TF201 and TF700 owners their Jelly Bean updates on September 28th and 29th, respectively. While they owned up to that for the Prime, the Infinity isn't so lucky: they just had to push the update back.

According to ASUS rep Gary Key, "a couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the "Comment" area with Android 4.1."

It's not all bad, though - the update should still begin rolling out early next week. Personally, I'd rather wait a few more days for a fully working OS than have to deal with a buggy system right now, anyway.

New York Times App Updated With All New, Holo-Inspired Interface

I find that I'm far more inclined to use an app if it's pretty. I can't stand blatant iOS ports for one, but I've also started to basically ignore apps that are stuck in the Gingerbread (and earlier) way of theming. Holo is where it's at, so that's what I want to see.

While the previous New York Times app wasn't exactly stuck in the "old Android" theme, it certainly wasn't ICS-ified, either. Thanks to an update that just hit the Play Store, however, that all changes.

The new version is very heavily Holo-inspired, and I have to say, it looks pretty great.
