The time has finally come: after spending the biggest part of a decade with Verizon Wireless, I'm moving to a GSM carrier. This isn't just because of the Nexus 4, though - I've been debating on making the move for months now. However, Big Red delayed the inevitable change when they turned on LTE in my area.
Adding to the steady stream of new phones, Samsung has now unveiled the GT-i9260, which will be publicly known as the Galaxy Premier. This phone was previously (and wrongly) rumored to be the Galaxy Nexus 2, as it sports a similar size to the original GN, but has the stylistic design of the Galaxy S III. Not all details are available at this time, but we know the device has a 4.65" 720x1280 Super AMOLED display, 8 or 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, an 8MP rear shooter and 1.9MP front camera, 2100mAh battery, and Android 4.1. Unfortunately, processor and RAM info weren't announced. Lame.
I'll admit, the A110 is instantly less attractive at $229 when you can now get a 32GB Nexus 7 for $250. But still, if you want HDMI out and absolutely must have expandable storage in a 7" form factor, then the A110 is the only clear choice that won't break the bank.

About a week ago, we got a look at the LG Spectrum 2 and all of its innards thanks to Best Buy. Now, Verizon has made it official. It's not going to rock any socks off, but for $99 after mail-in-rebate and a new two-year contract, it's really not a bad piece of kit:

OK, so it's Nexus day. A day full of excitement and new things to be excited about. That doesn't take away from other awesome news, though - like new CyanogenMod features, for example. The team teased one such feature on Google+ last night: the ability to quickly hide the navigation and status bars on applicable devices.
If there's one thing to say about The Verge, it's that they're already known for world-class reporting in the realm of all things tech. It's clear that Google thinks so, too, as they gave Verge editor-in-chief Joshua Topolsky a personal tour of the new Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Android 4.2. This is a first look at what to expect from the devices, some of the thought process behind the design of both the N4 and N10, as well as some not-yet-highlighted features of Android 4.2, like lockscreen widgets and the quick settings panel.
So Google just blew our minds with tons of new Nexus stuff. The Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and new variations of the Nexus 7 (32GB, 3G). The new listings for each are all live in the Play Store, so you have from now until November 13th to stare at the the images and memorize every single detail of the spec sheet of each.
We've known it was coming for a while, but Google finally made the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 available. Like we expected, the company has done away with the 8GB variant and dropped the price point of the 16GB version accordingly, so the 16 is now $199 and the 32 will set you back $250. Not bad at all.
Way back in July, we saw a leak revealing several new Nexus 7 accessories, including a Pogo Dock, "premium cover," and multiple colors of travel cover, like the grey one that has been available since launch. Two new colors -- pink and light blue -- of that case have now showed up in the Play Store, with availability listed as "coming soon."
Cloud backups are a dime a dozen these days, and if you use Dropbox, you already have access to its Camera Upload feature to instantly transfer your images. Still, if you prefer ImageShack for all your photo hosting needs, then Skypath is an app for you.
