We all like free things. We also like getting things done without hassle (that's why smartphones are a thing in the first place, right?). When those two things come together, though, it's worth talking about. Amazon must recognize this fact, as it's offering up some fantastic productivity apps today without charge.

Among the freebies, you'll find some pretty solid names:

It's hard to say how long these deals will go on – it may just be for today only.

Just yesterday Verizon dropped the price of its Galaxy S 4 by $50, which in itself was a noteworthy deal since directly from Big Red was the only place you could find the 32 gigger. Until today, that is. Wirefly has now made itself the only other retailer to offer the 32GB S 4 running on Verizon, and of course, it's also more affordable at only $220 for both upgrades and new customers.

If you want a 10-inch Android tablet, it's difficult to look past the Nexus 10. It has a beautiful display, incredibly snappy processor, 2GB of RAM (which makes a huge difference), and possibly the most important: it's a Nexus. For many users, memory cards are a very important part of mobile life. They provide extra storage when it's most crucial, allowing users to carry around thousands of songs, hundreds of TV shows, or dozens of movies to watch in their downtime. Depending on the model of phone in which they reside, they could also mean the difference between having enough space for Grand Theft Auto instead of Angry Birds.

If you're in the market for newer, faster, or just larger microSD (or even standard SD) card, then today's Amazon Gold Box deal is one you won't want to pass up.

Sprint-Galaxy-S-III-Google-Wallet-Preloaded-2GB-RAM-Dual-Core-S4-Preorders-Up-June-5-Release-On-June-21-A

Update: Sprint has officially announced these new plans as of tonight.

As you may have already heard, Sprint is gearing up to put some new plans called Unlimited, My Way and My All-In in motion. From what we've seen, the new plans likely won't replace the old Everything plans, but they are definitely different in essentially every way. And for some, they may even be cheaper.

If you're in the market for a portable Bluetooth speaker but aren't feeling the $100+ price tags of some of the top dogs on the market, then Best Buy has a pretty solid deal going that may be of interest. For a limited time, you can grab the Philips Shoqbox for the low price of $68 – that's a full $112 off MSRP and roughly $40 less than what Amazon is selling it for.

wundermap

If there's one belief I have when it comes to mobile devices, it's that you can never have too many weather applications. I'm not sure where that obsession comes from, but I periodically have to remind myself to clear out the ones I no longer look at.

Given my love for good weather apps, I can't help but grab all the latest ones as soon as they hit the Play Store (if they look good, of course), and when I hear the name Wunderground, I immediately know it's going to be one worth keeping.

Today's update brings fullscreen support to tablets – simply start scrolling and the bar disappears. As a Chrome beta user, I can attest that this is one of the most useful features in all of mobile browsing.

T-Mobile's "Un-carrier" re-branding changed the game. It took what those of us in the US know about wireless contracts, threw that out the window, and offered something different. And the company is excited about that. This morning, T-Mobile CEO John Legere took the stage in New York to not only talk about the tremendous growth the company has seen since launching its Un-carrier initiative, but also to announce more new features – the company's boldest moves yet.

skype

A little more than a week ago, a major Skype update hit the Play Store with an all-new, Holo-fied look and overall sleeker appearance. But, that update also brought some annoyances, as well as its fair share of bugs. Today, Skype has released another update that should fix at least some of those issues.

Of the quirks that came along with the Skype 4.0, the difficult process to sign out was among the most frustrating.
