If you're a rooted user, chances are that you flash new ROMs fairly often. What you may not know, however, is that your phone saves the battery statistics from old ROMs, and if you've never recalibrated your battery before, then your time away from the charger may not be as good as it could be.

This is for rooted users only.

Resetting battery stats can be an intimidating task for those who don't spend a lot of time in recovery (or who have never even booted into recovery).

Just last week we reported the first reasonably priced Android tablet, the Asus EEE Pad Transformer, and it already looks like the competition is going to get thick where pricing is concerned. Acer has officially announced its Iconia A500 tablet, which will be hitting the Best Buy sales floor on April 24th for a cool $449. This brings it in at $50 above the rumored price of the Transformer, but still $150 less than the almost-equally-spec'd Motorola XOOM.

We have all been there before - you're running low on space and want to get rid of some apps. Or perhaps you just want to do your device a favor and remove old apps that you no longer use. Sure, the app is gone, but most leave behind unwanted data, taking up precious room on the /data partition, your SD card, or both. Fortunately, XDA member Dark3n has created a app to address such a situation, aptly titled SD Maid.

While it seems like it's becoming more and more difficult to get manufacturers to do what they are supposed to do in regards to releasing source code on time, ASUS stands tall and fulfills its responsibilities to the Android community by releasing the source code for the Transformer before the device even hits shelves. Take note, HTC, Motorola, Notion Ink, and the rest.

This means a great deal to those of you who are looking to pick up the Transformer when it's finally released and hope for a quick turnaround on custom ROMs and tweaks to the kernel.

WARNING: This fix is for rooted 3G XOOMs only. The Wi-Fi only version is not supported (yet).

Most XOOM owners will tell you that they love their tablet, but that it does have its annoyances - like the fact that the stock browser loads pages in their "mobile" view by default. What good is a 10 inch screen if you can't load the desktop version of a website? Of course, there is the about:debug fix, but that can be tedious, since you have to reapply it every single time you restart.

It looks like it's Android season in Alltel country, because four new handsets have just dropped on the regional provider's network. As of right now, Alltel customers can choose between the Motorola Milestone X - most of us know this one as the Droid X, the LG Axis - a low-end phone with a full slide-out QWERTY, the Samsung Gem - a tiny Froyo starter phone, and the HTC Merge - a mid-range Froyo device with a slide-out QWERTY.

Thanks to Radio Shack, it's no surprise that the Sidekick 4G is hitting the sales floor on April 20th for $99, but T-Mobile has finally made an official announcement via its Twitter page. In the interest of consolidation, it was also announced that the LG G2x would be available in-store for $199 after a $50 mail in rebate, but If you just can't wait to get your hands it, you'll be able to grab it online starting April 15th.

Ah, Android hackers. Aren't they the best? They take our beloved operating system and install it on everything possible! Most recently, they have managed to evict Windows Phone 7 from the HD7 and replace it with the little green robot. Have a look at this hot video action:

Pretty slick, right? While I'm not sure that there is any practical reason behind doing this, it's always cool to see Andy kicking ass where he wasn't meant to be.

I don't think that these guys ever sleep! Yesterday we told you about GO Score and now we're back with yet another app from the GO Dev Team: GO Keyboard. Already touted as the "best and most popular keyboard in the Android Market", the numbers speak for themselves - it has a stellar 0 star rating out of a massive 6 downloads!

Seriously, though, it incorporates the most common features of other Android keyboards, like skinning, "accurate dictionaries", autocorrect, text prediction in multiple languages, and more.

The rumors surrounding the Droid X2's hardware have been kind of sporadic, but it looks like we are starting to get a more definite look at what will be packed under the hood of this device. Some benchmarks that have appeared over at Nenamark are basically confirming the presence of a Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a qHD display, the latter via the device's reported resolution of 960x540.

This new information suggests the device is most likely a finished product and that release is upon us, making a launch sometime in May seem even more plausible.
