Earlier this month, Team Uncarrier dropped a fairly large bomb on the mobile industry by offering users access to international data roaming at no additional cost. Now, it's taken the wraps off of its newest offering, this time targeting tablet users: free data. The company is basically giving away monthly plans that offer 200MB of LTE bandwidth to anyone with a compatible T-Mobile LTE device. That's huge.
Yesterday, Andrew Bell unveiled his latest creation: the Trickertreat Android figurine for Halloween 2013. This whimsical little pumpkin-headed Android has a dual-nature personality, much like the fun-loving, but also high-strung mayor of Nightmare Town in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Actually, Trickertreat is a lot like a mashup of the Mayor of Halloween Town and The Pumpkin King himself.
Back in July of this year, we gave four sets of amazing Android Progress Administration Propaganda Prints from Andrew Bell. These throwback-style posters are stylistically designed to replicate those from the 30s and 40s, and they look fantastic.
As long as bicycles have existed, those who wish to steal said bicycles have found new and inventive ways to get around whatever locking mechanisms are put in place to keep them safe. As a result, lock manufacturers have to come up with new ways to ensure their products do what they're supposed to: keep the locked bike from being stolen. Among all the different designs, the U-style lock has widely been adopted as the best and overall strongest.

Roughly four years ago, AOL bought a little company called Patch that focuses on local community news. More specifically, "everything you need to know about your town, from local government to school news to what to do with your family this weekend" according to Patch's homepage. Unfortunately it's not available in all areas (or even all states) so there are probably many users who haven't heard of the service (myself included).
While there are no shortage of zombie shoot-em-ups on Android, none have quite reached the level of popularity that Madfinger's Dead Trigger has. While we're still more than a week away from the unveiling of Dead Trigger 2, those who love this type of game may be feeling sad and lonely, wishing for something else to play. Good news! We have just such a game for you: say hello to Dead Effect.
The KitKat leaks are in full force now and are starting to show up almost daily. Today's offering comes from ZDNet, where they've gotten hands on with some purported screenshots of Android 4.4 running on the 2013 Nexus 7 – most of which simply confirm things we've already seen. There are, however, a couple of new things present here, like the About Easter egg and a few shots that show off the updated clock app. Let's take a look at those first, starting with the Easter egg.
If you're a frequent ROM flasher, then you already know the tools of the trade – ROM Manager, ClockworkMod Recovery, TWRP, Goo Manager, etc. – but now it's time to add another to the list: ROM Installer from JRummy. If you're not familiar with Rummy, he's been putting out top-notch apps for root users since the OG Droid days. He's responsible for killer tools like ROM Toolbox and Root Browser, among many others.
It seems like external batteries are a dime-a-dozen these days, but ZENDURE is one like we haven't seen before. It's crush-proof, sleek, can retain 95% of its charge after 6-months without use, and a lot more. It's badass.

The Uncarrier itself is shaking things up again with phase three of its plan to change the mobile industry. As rumored earlier today, T-Mobile just announced unlimited global data for no extra charge in over 100 countries. That's massive – so massive, in fact, the (un)carrier is now able to say that its data network is larger than Verizon's and AT&T's combined. Massive.
Android-powered gaming systems are definitely on the rise as of late, with NVIDIA's SHIELD, OUYA, and the upcoming Mad Catz M.O.J.O., there's no shortage of ways to play Android games on something other than your phone or tablet. To keep up with the rest of the world, Archos has announced the sequel to its dedicated Android gaming system, the GamePad. I'll give you three guesses as to what the new version is called (and the first two don't count).
Listen, guys. Those of you who bought an OUYA need to take some time away from the controller and let the thing update. October's OTA just hit the airwaves, and it brings a couple of new features that are definitely worth having.
Hola, amigos! Hoy es un gran dia para ti!* You know why? Because Google Play Music and All Access are now available in Mexico! That means all the tunes Google has to offer, alongside its all you can stream music service, are at your disposal.
When it comes to Android gadgets, I have sort of a "the more, the merrier" mindset. But that poses a huge problem (aside from my wife's constant anger at money being spent on "another device I don't need"): charging them all is an absolute pain in the posterior. There are generally two choices: cords everywhere! or making my devices take turns charging. If you only have two or three devices, the latter option may be somewhat acceptable; anything more, however, and that's just not practical. Of course, having cords laying around everywhere is not only impractical but also unsightly.
If you're familiar with the brand name Nest Labs, then you already know that this company basically changed the way the common household thermostat works with its Nest Thermostat. Now it wants to do the same thing for another household necessity: the smoke/carbon monoxide detector. This new offering, dubbed Nest Protect, is a sleek, sexy looking box that replaces the tired old white disk currently attached to your ceiling.
