Everyone's favorite search-by-picture app, Google Goggles, received an update today that brings a few new features to the table, like better history search with notes support, better business card recognition, and adds the ability to suggest a better result.

Now, when you snap a picture with Goggles, you can add a tag to the photo that becomes searchable within your personal history. For example, if I snap a pic of something and add the tag "this was great!", I can later search my history for the word "great" and get a quick display of both note and photo.

If you've ever needed to create a PDF on the go, then you know that there really haven't been many options for doing so in the past, but that all changes today - Adobe just released CreatePDF for Android.

Using the same PDF creation as Adobe Acrobat, this app allows you to create a PDF on any Android 2.1+ device, including Honeycomb. It uses Adobe's online service for file creation, so the process doesn't actually occur on your device - but don't worry, Adobe says that the service does not keep a copy of the original file or the PDF.

Samsung-Galaxy-S2
Last Updated: November 23rd, 2011

Last week we told you that the Samsung Galaxy S2 was out on Three UK, and now, just 5 days later, Sammy has dropped the source code. This is huge news for Galaxy S2 owners, as this is probably the most beastly phone out on the market today, and you know that our boys (and girls?) over at XDA are going to do everything in their power to make it even more beastly.

We talk about a lot of different types of apps here at Android Police, but very seldom do we get to discuss an app that may actually save someone's life. WebMD for Android could be that app, and while I realize that may be a stretch, the possibility is still there.

This app really is an on-the-go doctor, as it offers a ton of extremely useful features. The symptom checker is a good starting point - it brings up a virtual body, where you tap the area that is troubling you, choose your symptoms, and then read about potential causes.

With all of the retail giants out there, I'm really surprised that Walmart is this late to the game in releasing its Android app. I guess the old saying "better late than never" applies here just as much as anywhere else, and any app that makes our lives easier is always a welcome addition in my book.

The Walmart app offers up all of the goodies that you need to shop-on-the-go, like deals, recent price drops, search, and store locator (including a filter to find stores with specific departments, like pharmacy).

On Friday we told you about the arrival of Pinball HD for Tegra devices, but if that just wasn't your cup of tea where pinball is concerned, then you'll be happy to know that ZEN Pinball THD will become part of the Tegra Zone family soon. ZEN Pinball is a port from the popular Playstation 3 game of the same title, and this will be its first venture into the mobile world.

Today, the crew over at TMoNews scored some shots and a few details of a new Samsung device, unofficially dubbed the "Exhibit 4G". As to not waste any time, let's get straight into the specs (keep in mind this is all unconfirmed):

  • 3.7-inch AMOLED display
  • 1.4GHz ARM11 processor
  • 5MP Camera with 720p video capture
  • VGA front camera
  • Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread)

That's pretty much all of the details that we have for now, but here are a few shots of the device:

Screen-shot-2011-05-06-at-2.31.05-PMwtmk Screen-shot-2011-05-06-at-3.25.28-PMwtmk

Like I said, this is about as unconfirmed as it gets, so take it for what it's worth.

If you've had an Android phone for more than, say, 6 minutes, then there's a good chance that you have Angry Birds installed. Actually, there's a good chance that you all all three versions of Angry Birds installed - the original, Seasons, and the newest of the three: Rio (based on the movie of the same name).

The latter has an update coming next week, dubbed Beach Volley, that will bring about several new levels, but this time the setting is a beach, and you won't be killing pigs or freeing birds.

We've all heard the rumors surrounding the shortage of Eee Pad Transformers, but now an ASUS spokesperson has come forward to let us all know the real deal: demand. One would assume that a company like ASUS would be able to predict that putting out the most economical device in its category would generate a lot of demand, but apparently it doesn't work that way.

ASUS spokesperson David Chang said that they would be dropping 100,000 Transformers in May, with an additional 200,000 to be shipped in June.
