To welcome the arrival of T-Mobile's newest mid-range handsets, the Samsung Exhibit 4G and Gravity SMART, Wirefly is throwing a bone out there to all who are thinking of signing up with Team Magenta. If you walk into a T-Mo retail store looking to pick up either of these devices, then you'll be shelling out $80 for the Exhibit and $70 for the Gravity SMART (or $30 if you get the plain black one), but you can grab them from Wirefly for $50 and free, respectively.
While I may love many, many things about Android, that doesn't mean that it lacks any annoyances. Of those annoyances, the inability to mount the SD card in the phone and PC simultaneously ranks close to the top of the list. Thankfully, there are apps like Dual Mount SD Widget to save the day.
What Dual Mount SD Widget does is quite simple, but extremely helpful: it allows you to mount your SD card to your phone and PC at the same time.
It's no secret that benchmarks can easily be spoofed to show some pretty amazing results. Regardless of that, it has become an almost standard practice to demonstrate a device's power and prestige by using such tools. Over time, a few different apps have made a name for themselves and become clutch in the realm of benchmarking tools: Quandrant, Linpack, and SmartBench, just to name a few.
A new benchmarking tool has now been released by the same dev that brought us Chainfire3D called CF-Bench.
According to the Motorola Europe Facebook page, the Android 3.1 update has started rolling out to the European variant of the XOOM. This update brings a several new features and improvements, including one feature that the US XOOM didn't get: SD card slot activation. This is, of course, due to the fact that the US XOOM is considered a "pure Google experience" device, so it's up to Google to push updates in the States - not Motorola.
Good news for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 hackers, modders, and customizers out there: Sammy released the kernel source code this morning.
Head over to the Samsung Open Source Developer Center to grab the download and get crackin'!
Even though Sprint has yet to get a Honeycomb tablet that actually runs on its network, that hasn't stopped it from at least trying to sell some new-tablet-tech. Just like with the Motorola XOOM, the Now Network has opted to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 void of any 3/4G connectivity, and instead will be offering the Wi-Fi only version.
The 10.1 inch, 16GB, Tegra 2-packing Tab will hit Sprint's online store on June 24th for $500, and arrive in retail stores exactly one month later for the same price.
So, you're a Sprint Premier customer patiently (or not-so-patiently) waiting for June 24th to get here so you can score your brand new HTC EVO 3D? Well - wait no more, because you can get it right now directly from Sprint for $199 with a two-year agreement. If you're not eligible for upgrade, but you just can't resist the 3D goodness of this handset, then you'll have to muster up the guts to give away 550 big ones to get it in your hands.
In a page taken directly from the Firefox playbook, the team behind Dolphin Browser have thrown the newest beta version of Dolphin HD into the market alongside the current stable version. This allows you to test out all of the upcoming features in Dolphin while they're still bleeding edge, without sacrificing the stability of the current version, as you can have them both installed at the same time.
I'm not entirely sure what they were thinking when they chose that font.
Update: Another picture has surfaced over at IT168, and this time the Xperia duo name is quite clear underneath.
A mysterious device that most are pegging as the upcoming Sony Xperia Duo has made a cameo over at Chinese website IT168. Rumor has it the the Duo moniker suggests that this will be the first dual-core device from Sony, but we have nothing that confirms (or denies) that info, so take it at face value.
If you picked up the recently released Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, then there's a good chance that you want some accessories to go along with it. Right now, if you use the coupon code GOOGLEIO2011 at Sammy's official online store, then you'll score a cool 30% off of all accessories. There is a catch, though - 60% of the currently released accessories are out of stock at the moment. However, if you're in the market to grab the stylus, vehicle charger, travel charger, or data cable - then you're in luck, as those are the only items currently in stock.
