If you're in the market for a portable battery pack/charger, the Godfather of them all just went on sale at Amazon: the ridiculously massive 16,000mAh i.Sound Power Max.

The Power Max has five full-size USB ports for powering/charging basically any device you can throw at it, be it an Android phone or tablet, iPad, Blackberry, or anything else with a maximum requirement of 2.4 Amps and can charge over USB. Another cool use is overnight-charging of multiple devices while only using one outlet.

If you're running a device without the Android Market and rely exclusively on the Amazon Appstore for your app-purchasing (say the Kindle Fire, for example), then you may be feeling slightly bummed that you can't score all these ultra-cheapo apps in Google's 10 Billion Promo sale. No worries, my friends, Amazon refuses to be outdone!

If you check the Amazon Appstore's $0.01 to $0.99 category, then you'll notice something interesting: quite a few $0.10 apps.

Big Red just took the wraps off of two new Motorola tablets that we've been hearing about for a while now: the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 and 8.2. Both tablets are running nearly identical specs, save for screen size:

Each tablet was built to address a specific market - the XYBOARD 10.1 is made for productivity and the use of a "precision tip stylus," which is included in the box, while the XYBOARD 8.2 was designed with multimedia in mind and sports 2.1 virtual surround sound and a "high-definition display."

Both tablets also come business-ready, as they come bundled with office-centric software such as Quickoffice HD and Citrix GoToMeeting.

As yet another step in improving the function of its site on tablets, Google has added a useful feature to the mix in regards to image search results. Now, when you search for an image you'll be greeted with a much more pleasant interface, which includes larger images and the new carousel view.

Once you've searched for an image, simply tap on it to enlarge. Swiping will take you to the next image, which is a really nice way to navigate through all of the pictures.

In my opinion, some of the best inventions also happen to be the simplest. You know the products - the type that you see and question why didn't I think of that? One such product is the Macro Cell Lens Band from Photojojo; honestly, this thing is bloody brilliant, partly because it's so insanely simple.

If you haven't already guessed by the name, the Macro Cell Lens Band adds a macro lens to your phone's camera.

Facebook just announced via its blog that an improved Facebook app for Android should be rolling out today. The updated app brings speed, improved photo interaction, and a better UI.

For starters, this update seems to be all about speed. Photos and albums are said to be two times faster than the current app, and photo sharing, comment viewing, and caption editing have all been improved.

The notification center has also been moved to the top of the screen so it's always visible, much like the desktop version of the site.

Seems that Verizon has been experiencing some issues with its entire network for the biggest part of the day thus far - we've been hearing reports that its 4G LTE network has been down since earlier today, and it looks like 3G service is in-and-out, as well.

Big Red has been noticeably silent during this outage, so let's just hope that they have every man, women, and child on the job to get it fixed.

Motorola has already let us know that it will be bringing ICS to most of its high-end devices, and now we have the details of what goes on behind the scenes to make an update like that happen. The blog post explaining the process gives a good look at the whole shebang, from start to finish.

Ready for a glimpse into Moto's world? Check it out:

1. Merge and adapt the new release for different device hardware architecture(s) and carrier customizations

This means that we take the source code and incorporate it into upgrades for devices on which this can perform well, along with making sure the carrier requirements are met.  Silicon partners such as Qualcomm, TI, and nVidia adapt this to their chipsets in parallel and we incorporate these as they become available.

Google Goggles, the app that lets you "search the real world with a picture," just received a pretty major update to version 1.7. The update brings some very cool features, like continuous scan mode, which lets Goggles do its thing without having to constantly hit the shutter button.

One of the coolest new features in this update is enhanced text recognition, which can detect the same text an online document and provide a link directly to the page.

Ready to add another rumor to the pile surrounding the US Galaxy Nexus release date? No? I don't blame you. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to stop this whirlwind of release date madness.

We've been hearing December 9th as the final release date for the Galaxy Nexus on Big Red for several days now; heck, an orgy of proof showed up yesterday that all but confirmed it - or so we thought.
