So, here's a bit of good news for Time Warner customers: the company just updated its Android app with support for streaming TV on Android 4.0 devices. Fantastic right? Yeah... no. There's a catch: it won't work for rooted users. Boo, Time Warner!

Of course, TW isn't the first company to shun rooted users when it comes to streaming media: Google itself did the same thing with Play Movies back when it first launched the service (long before it was called "Play Movies").

It's been a while since VZW showed any love to Thunderbolt owners, but that doesn't mean that it has forgotten about them completely. In fact, we just received a leak of a new build that brings some fixes and enhancements to Big Red's first LTE device.

While we already know that the Thunderbolt will be getting updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, this is just an incremental Gingerbread build.

If your device is running Android 4.0, you'll be glad to know that Chrome for Android beta received an update in the Play Store just a bit ago that brings a few new features, one of which many users have been waiting for: user agent switching. This means that no longer are you stuck on the mobile site, as you now have the option of choosing how to load sites. Yay!

This thing may have been "Elite" two years ago.

With specs like that, you probably expect this device to be free, eh?

When you want to totally reinvent yourself, a new look is definitely a good place to start. If you really want to say "hey, this is a new me!" then a name change can convey that message pretty well. I guess Read It Later wasn't happy with where it was in the hard knock life of an app in the Google Play Store, because it recently went under the knife to get a totally new interface, new features, as well as a new name.

A PR just hit our inbox from the guys over at Quickoffice detailing their new "Connect by Quickoffice" app. Since we like Quickoffice, we decided to take a closer look. Here's the general gist of it: if you're a Quickoffice user, you can install the new app for free (with limited functionality) and save all of your documents in the cloud, allowing you to access view them from any PC, Mac, tablet, or phone.

At the beginning of April, Google sealed a deal with Paramount that would bring 500 additional movies to the Play Store. Now, the Roaring Lion has decided to join the ranks as well: MGM studios' catalog is now available on Play Movies. The iconic MGM lion has been around for many years, and is one of the most easily recognizable signs that cinematic enjoyment is coming your way. The addition of MGM means that Google now has five of the six major movie studios' offerings in the Play Store - leaving Fox as the only one that hasn't jumped on board.

If you happened to pick up Sprint's newest budget-priced (but not budget performing) tablet, the ZTE Optik, then you may have awoken to an OTA update this morning. The update doesn't bring anything major, but it does offer up a few fixes that are sure to be welcome by anyone who owns this tablet:

  • Google DRM solution
  • Google Music
  • Google+
  • Persistent notification after BT transfer
  • Software version corrected in x-wap profile
  • Sim City closes when attempting to purchase while connected to Wifi
  • Sim City download issue fixed
  • Response when connected to a computer via USB cable

The update should be rolling out now and finish up over the next several days.
