Things are really starting to heat up for the arrival of Sprint's Galaxy Nexus on both the 'net and in Sprint stores; in fact, rumor has it that employee training started today. Graciously, one of those employees happened to send a few slides over to Android Life that confirms almost everything we want to know about the device, excluding one small detail: the release date.

Ever since Sprint announced the GNex at CES this year, there have been rumors that it will have a 1.5GHz processor.

Update: That's it, guys - all 1,000 Zeemotes are gone. Congrats to all who got one!

Yes, you read that right. We're giving away 1,000 Zeemote Bluetooth Gaming Controllers. One thousand. If you were to buy all of those from Amazon, it would cost you a whopping $30,000. Yeah - kick back and chew on that for a few.

So, what's a Zeemote? It's a controller that aims to drastically improve gaming on mobile devices, because, let's face it - touchscreen controls generally suck.

We teamed up with Tasks N Todos back in February to hook one lucky winner up with a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and ten more with pro licenses of Tasks N Todos, and now, we're back again to give one lucky winner a White GSM Galaxy Nexus.

So, what's so great about Tasks N Todos?

For starters, it syncs with Google Tasks, so if you have access to GMail, you have access to your task list.

LG-Optimus-S-Specification-Price

Do you have an LG Optimus S? Are you tired of running Froyo? Do you long for something newer, even if it's already outdated? Good news! Sprint plans to re-push Gingerbread to the Optimus S starting just two days from now, on April 4th. This time, however, it should be free of awful bugs that broke things like predictive text, charging, and USB mass storage.

As you can see, the update brings more than just Gingerbread to the device; it also brings quite a few other enhancements and fixes, including:

  • Device not charging
  • SD card un-mounting error
  • Device not recognized by Windows XP, Vista, or 7 operating systems
  • Predictive Text with Android Keyboard issue
  • Voice call volume issue
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread):
  • Updated color scheme (includes darker notification bar and black-based menus)
  • New on-screen keyboard (supports multi-touch input and a  smart auto-correction function)
  • Improved cut-paste functionality
  • New integrated download application for ease in accessing downloaded files
  • Updated camera application
  • Power management and task killer applications

The update will rollout in stages, with all users having received it within 21 days.

Apparently, it's all the rage for developers to bring classic games to modern platforms. Games that used to require full PC setups or (then) powerful consoles now run perfectly on mobile devices, so resurrecting this "old tech" for a new generation seems like the perfect idea.

The developers behind the port of Duke Nukem 3D have brought another classic FPS (first person shooter) to Android: Painkiller: Purgatory. For the uninitiated, Painkiller is a throwback game from the early 2000s where you play the part of a young man trapped in Purgatory, trying to find his way to Heaven so he can be with his wife.

Sprint

Okay, I know what you're thinking: isn't the Sprint GNex coming out on April 15th? Well... maybe. Actually, we're not sure now - according to a new document obtained by The Verge, it could actually be coming out exactly one week later, on April 22.

Despite the fact that the earlier leak came from a highly trusted source, this image appears to be legit, as all of the other dates are spot-on.

Earlier this month, Engadget got word that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Nexus S should resume its rollout "in the coming weeks." This go around, the update is rumored to be rolling out to the Nexus S 4G on Sprint, as well; those rumors appear to be realized with today's leak obtained by Brief Mobile: a fully-flashable, seemingly final build of ICS for the NS4G.

The leak appears to be a full ICS ROM, including updated radios, boot.img, bootloader, recovery, system.img, and userdata.img.

Looks like Rezound a RAZR/Maxx owners could be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich as early as next week, if this leaked document from Best Buy that just landed in our inbox is to be believed.

As you can clearly see, Wednesday, April 4th is slated to be the day that the RAZR twins see the Android 4.0 update; while the Rezound update should begin rolling out just two days later.

Now, we realize that it's pretty close to April Fool's Day, so before you scream out "Fake!", we've already reached out to our sources to verify the validity of the image, and it appears to be the real deal.
