Have you ever wanted to make custom ringtones, alarms, or notification sounds in Android but had no clue how to do it, even if you already put a media file onto your device? I can't blame you - Android is absolutely terrible about letting you do anything but pick one of the existing system sounds and offers no way of adding your own.

Enter Ringdroid. Ringdroid's sole purpose is to let you take an existing music file, crop it exactly how you want it, and then save it as either a ringtone, an alarm, or a notification.

Sprint continued its 4G announcement marathon this morning with the official launch of WiMax service in Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN, also known as Twin Cities, and Pittsburgh, PA. Welcome to the fast lane!

This announcement follows the Nashville 4G launch 2 weeks ago, Orlando launch last week, and the introduction of Epic 4G in the beginning of the month. Sprint’s 4G service now covers 55 markets.

Users of the only 2 aforementioned devices capable of running on Sprint’s 4G network are charged an extra $10 "premium data" fee, no matter whether 4G is available in their area or not.

Imgur.com is one of the best, if not the best, sites to upload that image you're about to share with a gazillion people. The site is very simple and robust, yet incredibly functional, and, most importantly, allows all uploaded images to be embedded on other sites without complaining about hotlinking. It is the service used almost exclusively for sharing pictures on reddit.com (hi all redditors!). Imgur started as an anonymous one-time upload service but later introduced account support, which was probably the most frequently requested feature.

Ever wanted to know what exactly it takes to roll out a whole new cellular network? Sprint, being one of the first companies in the US to do it (well, Clearwire is doing all the leg work), today launched a new video series which will explore just what exactly it takes to provide a large metropolitan area with 4G coverage.

The first video, "Wiring up 4G in NYC: Rooftops," is out now, embedded below.

The T-Mobile G2 is one of the most anticipated Android devices to hit the market this fall, and while the release date is still a bit over a week away (October 6th), T-Mobile stores are already receiving their stock.

The following pictures appeared on TmoNews today showing the G2 in its full glory. Feast your eyes on this bad boy (oh, why must it look so sexy?) and then grab your own via the best deal on the web: the Wirefly preorder for $150 out the door (no tax or shipping charges).

Wirefly is notorious for its aggressive pricing when it comes to new phones, and we can't blame them: being an online-only seller, they need to offer something exciting to win customers over from the carriers themselves and other retail locations, such as Best Buy or Radioshack.

The T-Mobile G2 preorder deal that went live today is no exception - it beats out all competition:

  • $149.99 for new accounts ($199.99 for existing ones).

The new HTC Desire HD and Desire Z handsets are coming very soon, and we're incredibly excited about both of them (just take a look at that 5-second Fast Boot technology again).

In order to keep our excitement going, HTC just pushed out a new video of these bad boys flying up in the air, showing themselves off in various ways. I even got slight chills a bit at the end but I think it's mostly due to the epic music selection.

If you have 10 minutes to spare today, take a look at this new official Samsung video of the Galaxy Tab. It's professionally shot but this time instead of the marketing presentation that we saw before, we have an actual hands-on 9m20s walkthrough of:

  • the build
  • the UI
  • emailing (that 2-pane view looks nice!)
  • typing
  • using a calendar
  • editing documents
  • using the keyboard dock
  • calling (for non-US users)
  • video conferencing
  • reading books
  • listening to music
  • watching videos
  • utilizing Flash
  • HD streaming
  • using Android applications
  • GPS capabilities

Grab a coffee (if it's morning) or a beer (if it's night time or if that's just how you roll) and take a look:

Besides that, we have another video from SamsungMobileUSA, which is essentially a report from the Samsung Galaxy Tab press conference in New York that we attended last week:

Now feel free to go back to your regular scheduled programming and start saving up for that Tab.
