CyanogenMod and other aftermarket ROMs are often the last recourse for tech-savvy users whose hardware has fallen behind the curve, or just been forgotten by a manufacturer or carrier. But even the CyangoenMod team can't keep supporting devices forever. In a Google+ post today, the CM team states that due to technical limitations, support for phones and tablets using the NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset will end with the next major Android release.
ZTE, alongside NVIDIA, announced today the upcoming Mimosa X, the world's first smartphone to reap the benefits of NVIDIA's purchase of chipmaker Icera.
The Mimosa X is powered by NIVDIA from front-to-back thanks to the Tegra 2 and Icera450 processor/modem combo, and will intro as a good solid offering for anyone looking at the mid-range market:

- 1GHz Tegra 2 processor
- 5MP rear camera
- Front camera (resolution not detailed)
- 450 HSPA+ 28Mbps Icera quad-band modem

Samsung and NVIDIA joined forces today to unveil the newest member of the Tegra 2 family, the Galaxy R. As Samsung's newest addition to the Galaxy line, The 'R' is sure to make its namesake proud, with some pretty powerful specs under the hood:
- 4.19 inch WVGA Super Clear LCD display
- 1GHz Tegra 2 processor
- 5MP rear camera, 2MP front cam
- 8GB built-in storage with microSD slot
- Android 2.3 with TouchWiz
Of course, since it's packing the Tegra 2 processor, not only will it bring outstanding performance to the table, but access to exclusive games and other apps in The Tegra Zone.
Riptide GP comes to us from Vector Unit, the developer of Hydro Thunder Hurricane for the Xbox Live Arcade. While that game features a number of souped-up racing boats with weapon attachments, Riptide GP returns to the water for a comparatively tuned-down affair.
After spending some reviewing the Dell Venue last week, I have a renewed interest in the world of all things combining Dell and Android. But, let's face it, Dell hasn't exactly had a great track record with its Android hardware, particularly its first attempt at a tablet - the universally-disliked Streak 7.
The Streak name, then, does evoke a bit of a grimace for most folks familiar with Android hardware.
As promised, Playbox today brought the console racing experience to Tegra 2 devices with the release of Bang Bang Racing THD. This top-down racer, previously available on XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, is one of the soon to be numerous games optimized for multicore phones and tablets. With the added device power comes a level of physics that is yet unknown in mobile gaming.
Let's just hope all that new hotness is worth the relatively high cost.
A couple of weeks ago we highlighted three upcoming games for Tegra devices, and the first of the trio - Pinball HD - will officially land today. Pinball HD is an iOS port from game developers Gameprom, and brings a new school twist to an old school game.
This game is graphically rich and beautiful, full of amazing textures and environments. The gameplay is incredible, as it offers varying dynamics according to device angle and orientation.
The rumors surrounding the Droid X2's hardware have been kind of sporadic, but it looks like we are starting to get a more definite look at what will be packed under the hood of this device. Some benchmarks that have appeared over at Nenamark are basically confirming the presence of a Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a qHD display, the latter via the device's reported resolution of 960x540.
This new information suggests the device is most likely a finished product and that release is upon us, making a launch sometime in May seem even more plausible.
Back on March 23, Woot featured the Viewsonic gTablet as their deal of the day, selling the tablet for just $285 out the door.
