Hey United Kingdom readers. We know you don't get to participate in a lot of the Deal Alert posts here on Android Police. We're sorry about that... especially since you folks could probably use a few discounts right about now. Well here's a pretty good one: take 100 quid off of an HTC 10 from the company store. It's available on HTC.com/uk right now - just add the coupon code SUMMER100 when you check out. It brings the full price down to £469.99. Read More
At the moment, the default Google camera app allows a staggering one option for a helpful photo grid: on or off. As happy as we are that it's there at all (if you're wondering, it's very good for getting a straight perspective and a balanced composition), we'd like to see some more options. And we'll get them sometime soon! We've managed to snag a preview of a future update for the APK, and while it's not exactly mind-blowing, it does add some very welcome tweaks to the grid. Read More
A couple of weeks ago, when the "three footprints" monster tracking system in Pokémon GO suddenly stopped working and showed three steps for everything, I decided to stop playing the game until Niantic fixed the issue so I could reliably find Pokémon nearby. I guess the joke's on me. Read More
Activity trackers are not miracle workers. Wearing a Fitbit isn't going to make you healthier, just like buying a piano for the living room won't make you a pianist. Activity trackers, however, are invaluable tools and immense help if you really want to get healthier and/or stay healthy. If you have already made the decision to be more active and it isn't just a spur of the moment, short-lived resolution, then activity trackers can be one more weapon in your arsenal. Read More
The Android TV interface is easy to navigate. Browse the tiles using the d-pad and enter apps with the Select button. A play/pause button does what it says, and the Home button takes you back to the homescreen. Simple.
But things can still be simpler, so Android N is providing a few more navigation options. Read More
Forgetting children in a car is on a hot summer day is, sadly, not that uncommon of a way for young people to die. Hospitals give out notices to new parents alerting them to the risk. But a piece of paper is easy to, well, forget. So Waze is doing its part to reduce the number of incidents. Read More
We're careful about covering hardware Kickstarters because so many of them fail to deliver. The Superbook laptop dockfirst popped up a few months ago, then it hit Kickstarter last week. Whether or not this device lives up to the hype, there's enough hype that you should probably be aware of it. The Superbook has already pulled in more than a million dollars, and there are still a few more weeks left in the campaign. Read More
Nest products monitor the many areas of your home, so it's not too much of a stretch to think you will want to view your home by room instead of gadget. The latest app update does just that. Nest's new Spaces view groups together all of the Nest products in your home by the room they're in. Read More
The OnePlus 3 has fast charging tech called Dash Charge, a first for the company. However, the necessary code for third-party ROMs and kernels to support Dash Charge simply didn't exist at launch. OP said it would release the necessary code by the end of July, and lo and behold, here it is right on time. Read More
