Casio's Pro Trek line of smart watches started in 2016 with the WSD-F10, a bulky, expensive Android Wear device with aesthetics and a feature set slanted at the outdoorsy market. The company followed up in 2017 with the WSD-F20, a refinement on the concept. Now, Casio is back at it with the WSD-F30, which is less chunky, but still rugged (and expensive).

The WSD-F30 has all the bells and whistles of its older siblings, like compliance to the MIL-STD-810G durability standard, offline navigation using locally-stored maps, and a 1.2-inch dual-layer display design that allows for a battery saving mode that severely limits functionality but boosts battery life to up to 30 days. Used like a normal smartwatch, Casio says it'll make it about a day and a half on a charge. It ships with a handful of bundled sports and fitness apps, including golf scoring tool Hole19 and running game Zombies, Run!

Casio also managed to make the watch just a hair smaller than its predecessor — 3.9 millimeters narrower and 0.4 millimeters thinner — without sacrificing durability. Plus, it ships with the newly-refreshed Wear OS. The WSD-F30 will be available beginning in January 2019 in black, orange, or blue, for a hefty $549.
