Media companies are quickly learning that making your own subscription service can be a massive revenue source, even if there are only a few interesting titles on offer. Warner launched the Boomerang streaming service earlier last year with a wide library of classic and modern cartoons, and now the company is making another - 'DC Universe.'

DC says the upcoming streaming service will offer "exclusive originals and classic favorites," curated comics, news, an encyclopedia, and exclusive merchandise. The company is planning a large library of original shows, which hopefully end up better than recent DC films. The lineup includes 'Titans' (a "gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise"), 'Doom Patrol', 'Swamp Thing', 'Young Justice: Outsiders', and an adult animated Harley Quinn series.

DC Universe will also have "an assortment of DC's most beloved superhero films." I don't know about you, but if I'm paying for a niche subscription service like this, all the DC films should be there. Yes, even Batman Forever. The world can never have enough of Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face.

The service will launch this fall in the United States, with apps available for iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV. If you're interested, you can sign up for beta access at dcuniverse.com.
