Logitech's Circle cameras have a few new tricks today, but they're tricks we've seen before. Alphabet subsidiary Nest took the stage at the recent Google hardware event to show off some new features that plug into the Google ecosystem. It demoed the ability to stream camera feeds to a Chromecast device, and now Logitech can do the same with Circle. That certainly didn't take long.
You'll need to link your Circle account in the Assistant (or Google Home) settings before Assistant will work. Logitech says you can refer to cameras by name, but I suspect you'll actually need to place them in rooms via Assistant for the commands to work. That's the case with Nest, at least.
Once you're set up, you can ask Assistant to stream your cameras to any Chromecast-enabled device. This feature works with all Logitech's Circle cameras including the original Circle and the new Circle 2 wired/wireless cams. Assistant integration goes live today in the US and will come to other regions "soon."

Logitech Makes Home Security Smarter with the Google Assistant Integration
Just Use Your Voice to Stream Your Circle 2 Camera Content on Your TV
LAUSANNE, Switzerland & NEWARK, Calif. — Oct. 26, 2017 — Today, Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) announced Circle 2 home security cameras now work with the Google Assistant on smart speakers like Google Home, eligible Android phones and iPhones, so you can easily ask to watch live video of what’s happening in and around your home. Start by saying, “Ok Google, show me the backyard camera,” to show a live view of your backyard on your TV using the Google Assistant and Chromecast, or a TV with Chromecast built in.
“We’ve worked with Google to make your home security smarter and even easier to access,” said Vincent Borel, director of new ventures at Logitech. “Logitech Circle 2 seamlessly integrates with your favorite voice assistant so whether you’re far from your mobile device and simply want to check who’s at the door or prefer watching the camera live view on a larger screen, our newest integration with the Google Assistant truly enhances your Circle 2 security camera experience.”
This latest integration with the Google Assistant works on all Circle 2 Cameras (Wired or Wire-Free), as well as the first generation Logi Circle, allowing you to watch live video of what’s happening in and around your home directly on your TV. To access this experience, you must have a Chromecast or TV with Chromecast built in and the Google Assistant on your eligible Android phone, iPhone or smart speaker like Google Home. You can view any of your Circle 2 cameras just using your voice. For example, if your Circle 2 Camera is named “front door,” you can say, “Ok Google, show me the front door camera.”
The Logitech Circle 2 and the Google Assistant integration will continue to evolve, so people always have access to the latest smart home features and voice experiences they love.
