LG has decided to get a jump on MWC by announcing the LG X Power2. This low-end device sports some pretty mediocre specs, but the focus here is on the large battery that is meant "to meet the demands of customers who frequently use power-hungry applications" and the various camera features.

Thus far, LG is keeping some of the specifics to itself, but here's what we know about this phone:

That spec list is very underwhelming. But, let's look at what LG is saying about the X Power2. The battery is one of the biggest foci of this announcement. 4,500mAh is very nice to see and with a 720p display, I imagine that it'll last for some time. The phone is also being pushed for the selfie and — I can't believe I am about to say this — wefie game. Auto Shot, one of the new camera UX features, will trigger the front shutter when it detects a face. And like other phones we've seen, the X Power2 will also support gestures for snapping a quick self-portrait, so that's cool.

All I will say is that I am glad this phone will ship with Nougat. March is the planned window for launch with Latin America leading the way. The U.S., Asia, Europe, and "other regions" (Australia?) will follow sometime afterward. Actual pricing will be announced when the X Power2 is available.
