Chinese manufacturer Meizu revealed the latest entry into its M-Series of smartphones, the M5 Note. Not to be confused with BMW's line of cars, this smartphone family usually sits in the lower end of the "mid-range" category. The M5 Note is no exception, packing decent specifications into an affordable price point.

The all metal unibody houses a 5.5" 1080p LCD screen, an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 CPU with the Mali-T860 GPU, 3GB/4GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of storage, a fingerprint sensor, a massive 4,000mAh battery, and 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. It will be running the Marshmallow-based Flyme OS 6 that was announced with the PRO 6 Plus.

The M5 Note comes in four colors: gray, silver, champagne gold, and blue. Pricing starts at 899 CNY ($131 USD) for the 3GB/16GB model, 999 CNY ($145) for the 3GB/32GB version, and 1,499 CNY ($218 USD) for the 4GB/64GB edition. Pre-orders should be going live soon and sales begin on Thursday, December 8. Availability spans most of Europe and Asia, with New Zealand thrown in for good measure.
