Saving and sharing video clips should be one of the rudimentary features of any connected camera system, so I'm surprised Nest didn't have that option until now. But now it does and it works in two ways. You can create an "instaclip" of any recorded event in your Nest timeline, but you can also tap and hold on the icon to make a custom clip with your chosen start and end times. After the clip is generated, you'll have the choice of either saving it locally to your device or sharing it with your contacts.

That's one of the two major features added with the latest Nest app update. The second is Android TV support to allow you to view your Nest Cam feeds from the TV without having to pull up your phone. There are a few other small changes and additions that you can read about in the changelog below.

WHAT'S NEW

Nest Cam customers with Nest Aware can create, save, and share video clips to your phone or share them with family and friends from the Nest app.
View your Nest Cam video feed in fullscreen mode without rotating your phone. Simply tap the down arrow icon below the camera window.
Now you can edit all device Notifications settings from the Home settings menu.
Have Android TV? Try the new Nest app for Android TV and view all of your Nest Cam video feeds right from your TV.

The app is free on the Play Store, but you'll need some Nest camera hardware to use it. It just so happens that a 2-pack of Nest Cam Outdoor is down $50 to $348 on Amazon, the Nest Store, and plenty of other online shops.
