Despite some technical objections, T-Mobile's unlimited video streaming option Binge On has proven to be a hit with the company's customers, just as the audio equivalent Music Freedom was before it. With these two programs, T-Mobile customers aren't charged against their data caps for watching or listening on participating services. Today Binge On expands to a few new services, and existing Music Freedom services are adding at least some video content to Binge On.

Here's the full list of new services, according to T-Mobile's press release:

  • Google Play Music*
  • Great Big Story
  • NBC
  • Kiswe
  • Ligonier Ministries
  • NOGGIN
  • Qello Concerts
  • Radio Disney
  • Univision
  • Univision Noticias
  • Spotify
  • TIDAL
  • Toon Goggles

*Note that Google Play Music doesn't actually have any video content, and so can't benefit from Binge On (it's already part of Music Freedom). I'm assuming that YouTube Red, which focuses on music videos via the YouTube Music app and shares a $10-a-month subscription with Google Play Music Unlimited, is what's meant here.

Not bad, not bad at all. Users on T-Mobile's metered mobile and data-only plans should be able to use the above video and music services and their related apps without the data transferred counting against their total. NBC, Spotify, and Tidal are the heavy hitters here, but anyone who uses one of the services regularly should be happy to do so without worrying about going over their data limit.
