I like budget phones. I especially like those that still let me run the latest version of Android. It looks like AT&T's upcoming GoPhone from LG may be one to add to that list.

The LG Phoenix 2 has a 5-inch display, a 5MP front-facing camera, and an 8MP rear shooter. The former is used for "Gesture Shot," which lets you activate your camera by waving a hand in front of the screen. It's the kind of feature I imagine will lead to many snapshots of the tops of desks and tables.

No matter. The big distinguishing feature is the inclusion of Marshmallow and a price point of only $99.99. Pay that off and you own the device. There are no contacts or financing options to fuss around with when you're getting a GoPhone.

The Phoenix 2 is the follow-up to an underwhelming little phone from 2011. That handset had a 3.2-inch screen, 600MHz processor, and 160MB of user memory. Adorable.

AT&T hasn't provided complete specs for the Phoenix 2, but you can expect the phone to be better than that when the phone goes on sale online today, hits retailers May 14th, and arrives in AT&T stores starting June 10th.
