Google Search can do many wondrous things: set up a reminder item, imitate a metronome, show (reasonably) accurate weather predictions...or play animal sounds. That's right, the newest feature to come to the platform is a function to play a requested animal sound, which may make you feel like you're in a zoo, but might come in handy one day.

So what animals are there to choose from? Well, there're cats and dogs, alongside a range of 'farmyard' animals, such as pigs, cows, horses, turkeys, and roosters. Then there's the 'wildlife' contingency of the animal kingdom - tigers, zebras, lions, apes, raccoons, and elephants. Alongside them are the slightly stranger inclusions: a humpback whale, a blowback whale, and a moose. Sadly there's no fox, although we hold out hope it'll be added soon.

So, if you want to teach your kids what noises animals make, then this is for you. If you want to waste time at work... then this is also for you. Hm.

The feature seems to work across screen sizes, devices, platforms, and browsers, so go give it a try! Searching for 'animal noises' will bring up a random answer, while searching for 'what sound does...' will bring up a specific animal.
