There's a particularly neat feature lurking in the flags in the latest version of Chrome Dev. If you toggle "enable-ntp-snippets" you'll get a handy list of content from around the web on the new tab page, complete with text snippet previews.

So far, this flag appears to only be available in Chrome Dev. You'll find it under chrome://flags/#enable-ntp-snippets. The default behavior right now is to have this feature disabled, but you can toggle it to enabled to test it out. Your frequent pages will be shifted toward the top of the new tab page to make room for a scrolling list of content from around the web. Tapping on any of them opens a preview of the text along with a link to open it in the tab.

We're not certain how the links here are being chosen, but we're seeing content from Kotaku, NPR, and others. The thumbnails are also loading inconsistently, but this is an experimental feature in a dev browser—bugs are to be expected. You can grab the latest Chrome Dev from APK Mirror.
