Audible makes audio books more convenient than most other sources thanks to its integration with Amazon Kindle, but it was not very convenient for Android Auto users until now. The app has finally been updated for Google's car interface, but there are a few other notable improvements too.

  • Playback speed – you can now fine tune playback speed between 0.5x to 3x
  • Android Auto support
  • Store – easier access to your wish list, best sellers, categories and pre-orders

If you have an Android Auto unit, you'll see Audible in the list of media apps. It looks more or less like all the other Auto apps with the playback bar and nav menu. You have access to the skip forward/back functions and play/pause on the main screen. This is essentially par for the course with Auto apps.

Also in the updated app, you get playback speed adjustments between 0.5X and 3X. That'll speed things along if you're a voracious reader/listener. The updated app is live in the Play Store if you want to grab it. As usual, Audible offers a free book if you sign up for a trial.
