Read update
- Like many of our readers, we had spotted the new Play Newsstand in Lebanon several days ago, but it wasn't added to Google's support documents then. It's now officially listed there.
People in eight countries across the Middle East can now subscribe to magazines in the Play Store. Google has updated its list of supported countries with eight additional names:
- Bahrain
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
Paid Play Newsstand content consists predominantly of magazine subscriptions. A few newspapers require a subscription to read their content in the app, such as the New York Times and the Washington Post here in the States.
All of the countries listed above received access to paid Play Books content early last month.
