Samsung and Apple take swipes at each other. The two companies are sort of like mobile carriers in that regard. It surprises precisely no one to see them bickering this many years after taking one another to court (something they're still doing, by the way).

Sometimes the back and forth leaves us with something amusing. Take this Samsung Pay ad. It's nothing particularly special, but you get to see stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress walk into Katz’s Deli and try to pay for an order with his phone. The people at the register say he can't, but, well, you know where this is going.

Samsung Pay uses magnetic secure transmission (MST) to make payments at essentially any terminal that can take a standard credit card. This makes it more broadly usable than options like Android Pay and Apple Pay that rely on NFC. Except, that is, for the requirement that you own Samsung hardware. That kind of puts a limit on things.
