Verizon and Motorola assert that the new DROID Turbo 2's screen is shatterproof. According to a video from CNN, there might be something to that claim. In the clip, the phone suffers numerous falls from varying heights against different surfaces, gets run over by a bicycle, and meets the underside of a horse's hoof. And sure enough, it doesn't shatter.

That said, the phone doesn't walk out in mint condition either. The screen suffers from a number of dents. But if you have ever put up with a shattered screen for any extended period of time, this is surely an easier blemish to overlook.

As for the sides of the phone, they're pretty jacked up. So if one scratch along the corner is all it takes to send you back to the store ready to swap for a new one, you're still going to need to keep a tight grip on your phone or continue to invest in a case. The DROID Turbo 2 doesn't make it completely safe to go naked in public, even if it does alleviate some of the risk.
