Do you love music enough to pay for a Spotify account? Did you also buy a set of Sonos speakers? Have you been upset that you haven't been able to use the former's Radio feature on the latter?

No, this isn't the introduction to an As Seen On TV product. But things in your life are still about to change for the better, and no, you don't have to act now. Well, okay, you technically have to make sure your software updates. Version 5.5 of the Sonos app adds support for Spotify Radio features such as starting a playlist based on a particular artist or track. The feature is available for Android, even though the GIF we're about to show you is of an iPhone.

In the changelog that has appeared on the Play Store, you will see these listed as Artist Radio and Track Radio. Other features include the ability to start streaming music based on genre or mood.

This functionality is hardly new to Spotify, it's just been a matter of waiting for Sonos to get things set on its end. That time has come.

What's New:

  • This update adds support for new Spotify features like Artist Radio, Track Radio, Genre and Mood playlists, and more.
  • This update also fixes an issue seen during the setup of some Sonos 5.1 surround sound systems.
  • All Sonos apps and systems are required to update. Simply start the Sonos app and select Update Now.
