AT&T's prepaid service is set to expand its budget offerings this week with the ZTE ZMAX 2. As the name implies, this is the followup to the original ZMAX . Like its predecessor, the ZMAX 2 tries to offer some more premium features while keeping the price reasonable. This one is even cheaper, though.
The original ZMAX was $250, but this one clocks in at a mere $150. Spec-wise, you're looking at a 5.5-inch 720p LCD, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (with microSD), a 3000mAh battery, and 8MP/2MP camera setup. ZTE didn't specify which SoC was in the ZMAX 2, but based on calling it a "1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon," it's probably a 400 series.
It's running Android 5.1 with what looks to be the same light skin used on the Axon. It should work well enough, but doesn't add much functionality to Android. Still, for $150 this looks like a solid device on AT&T.
