Earlier today, Verizon (and very likely Verizon Wireless in the near future) changed its logo. Someone asked John Legere about it, and, as usual, T-Mobile's CEO did not disappoint:
Them's fightin' words, John. But you know what? Don't ever change.
And then VZW's CEO Lowell McAdam was all like http://i.imgur.com/lUnXUBa.gifv.
Double GIF Hype!
John Legere says "OK" and starts walking toward him and then Lowell McAdam is all
There needs to be a John Legere reality tv show. So much more entertaining than the Crapdashians.
Lol you watch reality shows, so lame.
I don't. But i would if John Legere was in one. I can imagine the opening scene...
It's midnight in a dark strip mall parking lot. The camera pans past a few businesses and finally settles on Verizon Wireless.
You hear the screaching of tires and a magenta Cadillac pulls into the parking lot and slams to a stop in front of the front doors.
Out pops John Legere laughing like a maniac. He runs to window of the store and pulls a can of spray paint out of his back pocket.
He uses the paint to scrawl in huge magenta letters "Verizon is crap!" over the facade. He then pulls down his pants and leaves and takes a dump on the doorstep.
Hopping back in the car he speeds out of the parking lot flipping the bird out the window and blasting Macklemore on the radio.
The opening credits roll up the screen displaying the title of the show.
John Legere is $#@*# Crazy.
Pick it up HBO. It needs to happen.
Oh my god yes.
Wow. Well thought out, man.
If HBO won't do it, hopefully Netflix would. Haha.
For a second I thought that was the whole show.
It actually could be.
According to Verizon's own website "1,700+ company-operated retail locations in the U.S"
The entire show could be him doing this to every single one of their locations. I would not put that past him to do that to every one of them either, except it would probably be a magenta helicopter so he could hit more of them faster.
As soon as it got to the part where he slammed to a stop rather than go through the doors, I knew it was fake.
someone get this man A DIRECTOR!
LOL. You're concerned about what other people find entertaining, so lame.
I think you're on to something there. I'd actually watch that. Somewhat tweet at him.
His Periscope is pretty good

John Legere is awesome, and so is T-Mobile. I saw him periscoping live the other day riding in a bat mobile on the way to a call center to talk to employees, and was talking about data abusers. The guy is insane, in all the right ways.
THAT CHECKMARK WAS JUST BEGGING FOR IT"
I'm a T-Mobile customer, but to be honest, I'm not a big fan of his antics. I'd rather have a more grounded face to the company that would rather drum up their own differentiating features instead of aggressively attack its competitors. It just seems immature to me.
However it's hard to argue with 5GB of data for $30, so I'll stick with T-Mobile. But the moment that I have a phone that can support Project Fi, I'll be reconsidering my options.
I'll hit up Fi when the data price per GB goes down. I sometimes only use 1-2, but I also sometimes use 20-50GB and I don't like the idea of needing to be conscious about my data usage when $50 covers unlimited data on my line, at the cost of a little of the coverage Sprint would add to my area.
20-50 GB in a month? I think you're one of the fiends that Legere was calling out the other day in the open letter ;)
not even close. i use 100 just music streaming ... the open letter he was referring to was regarding TETHERING. and there are ppl who use in excess of two TERRABYTES per month . seriously......
Haha, very true. I'm guessing that they've resorted to using their unlimited data as their sole internet connection at home, sharing with the family, torrenting the hell out of it.
Yeah, T-Mobile is all about unlimited as long as it's just for you, they're pretty clear about how much you're allowed to share though to other people.
You wont be getting 5gb data for $30 with Project Fi (I have Project i btw). Instead you'll be getting 1 GB data for $30. However so far I love Project Fi (Aside from losing my Google Voice Features , Well . . kind of, but it took playing around with moving my cell number to another GV number and porting my GV number to Fi so I can revert to business as usual if I ever get rid of Fi)
$30 for 1GB, but don't forget you get credited for what you don't use... AND it doesn't cost double if you go over, you just pay for what you use :) (Fi user as well)
I know I don't get 5GB of data on Project Fi, and I don't even get close to that, since I'm under Wi-Fi for 90% of the time. I occasionally run out of minutes, so I'd rather have unlimited calling instead. Reception is spotty where I live, so I'd appreciate the T-Mobile/Sprint tower switching.
"drum up their own differentiating features..."
1. No contracts
2. Music streaming does not count against your data cap
3. Free calls & texts to Canada and Mexico
4. Upgrade your phone every 6 months, even if you owe >50% of the value of your current phone
I know the features, but thanks for taking your time for the less informed.
If it wasn't for Legere and his "antics" T-Mobile would be dead now, and not in 3rd place. Seeing a CEO without a stick up their ass is a nice change. Try taking the one out of yours and live a little.
I think he's fun at times, like a goofy friend of a friend. But I wouldn't be best friends with him, that's the distinction.
NO. The T-Mobile logo is FINE. We don't need one.
I hope they don't follow the pack and change a perfectly good logo, but I'm not too worried as T-Mobile usually doesn't do the same lame stuff the others are doing.
Leaving Verizon was the vest decision I ever made, EVER!
Maybe the seond best would be to buy a dictionary with your savings! Just kidding. Autocorrect gets the best of us all.
Lol, it's cool bro, I just saw that.
That made me laugh. :)
Locked bootloaders ✓
Ugly logos all over the place ✓
I cannot express my f****** hate for verizon due to this.
Y U DO DIS?!?!?!?!?!?!
Hah! Verizon just got Legere'd
Googles new logo sucks too.
I like it
I like it, but they had and go to color everything else too.
He's getting a *wee* bit overzealous these days, IMO. Still, he's entertaining.
Also, he's probably what a coke habit looks like.
Lmao. This guy.
That guy lives on Twitter. It's his home away from home.
I would let him have his way with me, and you guys wouldn't be able to call me gay.
You, gay √
I have Verizon service but like John Legere.
As for Verizon your logo is still fugly. Just shadow letter V with red and get rid of that checkmark that graffitis my phones.
That sounds like a much better logo actually.
So it wasn't the corner of a box falling on the text?
He's like John McAfee, only not high on crystal meth.
I only wish I could upvote this more than once!
Wow. Artem wrote an article. Just wow.
Throttled unlimited data
Roams on AT&T
Super throttled roaming to the point of uselesness
Steals from their customers with fake tax
3G is useless with anything less than 3 bars
4G is only in metropolitan areas
No service at home? Use WiFi.
Untrue point about service quality and speed
AT&T roams on T-Mo in some areas; they're the only other GSM carrier
Roaming can be quite useful at times
That's AT&T, not T-Mobile that does that
You could use Wi-Fi, but chances are you have service, as it's quite excellent really
Come to northern Michigan, watch T-Mobile suck donkey balls.
Having worked for T-Mobile, I assure you, he is correct. And T-Mobile supervisors instruct their reps to illegally place or increase existing features onto callers accounts to increase revenue. That's why I quit.
And no, service is not excellent. They are sub par in EVERY way. Some states have literally no service. In the whole state. Complete and total lack of service.
Go, T-Mo, Go! FUCK Verizon.
Apparently implementing Deep Packet Inspection in an attempt to catch tethering use (because 'thieves') ✓
OK, it was part of the T&Cs (though a debateable sub-definition of 'unlimited'). No problem, mobile backhaul links are hilariously underprovisioned by everyone. But the only options to detect tethering use are a blanket data cap (i.e. not unlimited), checking the Useragent (already stated as not that effective), or packet inspection.
Implementation and attempted implementations of DPI by other ISPs has been met with widespread backlash. T-Mobile appear to be trying to sneak it in under the radar, under cover of an otherwise popular scheme.
Okay...He has a hell of a lot of nerve to talk about screwing over customers! T-Mobile is the King AND Queen of screwing customers over!
bring back 2 lines unlimited for $100.
Given the current trends, a new logo would be like a T in Arial and nothing else. Ew.
I have my gripes with Verizon but he had the choice to be classy and decided to do the opposite.
Buuuuut Verizon service actually works 99% of the places I travel, no matter how rural, so there's that.
How much mobile data do you personally use in a month (NOT counting Wi-Fi usage)?
