Sony's smartphone division isn't doing great right now, but the company is still pumping out devices like there's no tomorrow (and maybe there isn't). The mid-range Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra have been leaked in full by Hi-Tech.Mail.ru, and one of them has some interesting design ideas.
The Xperia C5 Ultra will probably get more attention than the M5. It's a big 6-inch phone with a 1080p LCD. The bezel on the left and right of the screen is just 0.8mm wide, which looks neat. Unfortunately, that's the most interesting thing about the design. It's otherwise a very typical Sony device. Inside you get 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 chipset. It'll cost the equivalent of $350.
The Xperia M5 is much more forgettable than the C5 Ultra. It has a 5-inch 1080p screen, 16GB of storage, and 3GB of RAM. It's powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 chipset. So it's specced a little higher than the C5 Ultra, but the design is even more typical of every other Sony phone from the last few years. It's expected to retail for about $400.
