HTC Zoes are not the kind of things that get most Android enthusiasts weak in the knees. At least, they're not what many would openly admit to loving, anyway. Zoes began as an approach to making quasi-GIFs on the HTC One M7. Then HTC expanded the brand into a social network of sorts that it opened up to other hardware. Then Zoe's original form started to disappear.

This upset a few folks. So now HTC has brought back the ability to shoot Zoes in its camera app on the One M8 and the Butterfly 2.

What's New:

  • Zoe camera mode is back for the HTC One M8 and HTC Butterfly 2!
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

The latest update doesn't bring the feature to the M9, so HTC's Zoe plans still seem kind of wishy-washy. But hey, at least some users are happy again.
