It's time to crack open a Nuka Cola and drink a toast to Bethesda. After several weeks of verbal and emotional abuse at the hands of rabid Android users, the company has announced a release date for Fallout Shelter on Android. It's coming August 13th.

Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play game intended to promote the upcoming release of Fallout 4 by letting you build and manage your own post-apocalyptic Vault-Tec Vault. You have to keep the residents happy, find supplies, and make sure no one goes crazy and wrecks up the place. As David pointed out in his review of the iOS version, it gets kind of tedious after a while, but it's still crazy-popular on iOS.

The game does have in-app purchases, but the gameplay really isn't tuned to push them. Again, its main goal is to get people excited for the new Fallout game. You'll be able to give it a shot for free in just a few weeks.
