The upcoming release of the third generation of Motorola's Moto G has been an especially leaky one. Coming hot on the heels of today's accidental publishing of the phone's Moto Maker page, a promotional video for the Brazilian market has found its way to YouTube.

One meaningful thing we get from this particular leak is that, unlike Motorola's company secrets, the Moto G will be watertight. The promo boasts of IPX7 certification, meaning the 2015 Moto G will have modest waterproofing that will protect it from splashes, rain, and brief submersion up to 1 meter deep.

The video, which we have mirrored here, confirms much of what we have heard about the Moto G and also may lay to rest some of the false rumors going around. Here's what it tells us:

  • There will be a 13MP back camera and 5MP front camera. The back one will have LED flash.
  • The screen is 5" and is referred to as "HD," which probably means it will be 720p.
  • The CPU will be "quad-core," but not much other information is given. It could vary depending on which storage level you choose.
  • It has the aforementioned IPX7 water resistance.
  • The device will run Android 5.1, though the fine print doesn't make it clear whether it will ship with it or update to it shortly after.
  • There will be a microSD card slot for memory expansion (only up to 32GB, according to the fine print).
  • Customization will be possible, presumably without access to Moto Maker, via interchangeable back shells as in past models.

It also looks just as the many other leaks have suggested. We'll find out all the details on July 28th when Motorola makes the official announcement, but you know just about everything now.
