In an attempt to fit in with the cool kids, a teenage girl named Erica Page is trapped overnight in a haunted house full of creepy crawlies that want to kill her. Using her wit, will, and a wide variety of weapons she must solve a 200 year old mystery and escape the mansion before dawn, or she will become a creepy crawly herself. That's the premise of Amazon Game Studio's latest game, built in collaboration with WayForward (developer of Ducktales: Remastered), Til Morning's Light.

In the game, Erica wanders through a darkened mansion with her trusty flashlight looking for clues, solving puzzles, and fighting a host of ugly monsters along the way. With over 100 unique rooms and locations to explore and fight through, it is safe to say Erica isn't going to get much rest if she wants to make it out of the haunted house before dawn.

To me, the game looks like a mash up of Luigi's Mansion, The Room, and rhythmic tapping games like Guitar Hero. Yes, you read that right, Guitar Hero. No, you won't be shredding any ghouls with your sweet chords, but like Guitar Hero, precise timing is the key to success. What sets this title apart from other puzzle games is its unique "rhythm based" combat system.

The idea is pretty simple, you press the screen at the exact moment two concentric rings come together to score a hit on an ugly monster thing. If your timing is off, the ugly monster thing hits you. If you hit it more than it hits you, you survive to explore another room and solve more puzzles. Simple eh? Personally, I find it a bit overly simplistic, but it may be fun, especially for younger players.

Til Morning's Light features some sharp looking visuals and lighting effects and seems to be a very well developed title. It had better be with the $6.99 asking price, which is a bit on the high side for a mobile game. At least there are no IAPs.

As you might expect with this being an Amazon exclusive, the game is only available on Android from the Amazon Appstore. Check out the trailer below if you would like to get a better feel for the game. If you like what you see, you can hit up the source link at the bottom of the page to purchase it for yourself.

Update: Despite stating in the product description that Til Morning's Light is compatible with devices running Android 3.0 and up, it appears the game may be a Kindle Fire exclusive at present. If anyone is able to download the game on a non-Amazon device, please let us know in the comments below.
