The Fire TV Stick is a fantastic little video streaming device, according to our own Cameron Summerson. Though it lacks some of the more complex features of its big brother the Fire TV, it can handle all of Amazon's diverse digital media offerings and plenty of apps and games from the Amazon App Store to boot. Amazon customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria will have a chance to check out the Fire TV Stick for themselves on April 15th.

The gadget is available for pre-order on Amazon's UK and German portals, for 35 pounds and 39 Euros, respectively. Current Amazon Prime subscribers (who have access to all of the free Amazon Prime video in their territory) are eligible for a discount, bringing the price down to an impressive 19 pounds/Euros. If you don't have Prime, you can sign up for a new subscription (79 pounds or 49 Euros a year) and get an additional refund bringing the Fire TV Stick down to just 7 pounds or 7 Euros. For comparison, the US price is $39.

The Fire TV and Fire TV Stick are both getting some important upgrades soon, including the ability to log into hotspots with browser-based authentication. Hopefully those updates will be available by the time the first UK, German, and Austrian customers get their hands on their new HDMI streamers.
