Google has been deploying some server-side Play Store tweaks in recent weeks, the most obvious of which is the switch to the search bar on the main page. More subtle are the new animations that have been spotted recently, but now they are reportedly reaching most (presumably Lollipop) devices.

The video above tells you pretty much all you need to know. Tapping on any item in the Play Store produces a nice fade-in animation with the familiar Lollipop digital ripple effect. The icon also slides to take up its station on the details page rather than appearing with the rest of the content. Since this is a server side update, there's no way to install an APK to enable it. The new animations will arrive on your device whenever they arrive. It shouldn't be long now, judging by the reports.
