Dear residents of Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham—I now hate you. I am not alone in my unremitting dislike of you. Indeed, most of the web now despises you and your upcoming access to the holy grail of internet access, Google Fiber. Yes, Google is rolling fiber out to these four metro areas in the coming months. Congratulations, jerks.

Google Fiber will actually be deployed in 18 total cities across these four new metro areas. This will mean symmetrical up and down gigabit speeds with no caps for $70 per month. TV service can be added as well. Google already has fiber in three metro areas with four more potential cities in the early planning phases.

Google will be designing the network over the next few months with help from city leaders, then the rollout begins. It might take a while for everyone to get hooked up, but at least gigabit is on the way.
