Google has pushed out a number of tweaks to its suite of mobile office apps: Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Even Drive, the place where edited documents are stored, hasn't gone untouched. Some of these features are nice to see, so let's dive in.

What's New

Update: Docs, Sheets, and Slides all have full hamburger menu icons now.

In Docs, an option to select line spacing has appeared in the "Paragraph" section of the app. Users can select single spacing, double spacing, or a couple of decimals in between (1.15 and 1.50). You switch between them using arrows, and since you can't manually input a number, you're limited to the options present.

Scrolling around a spreadsheet in Sheets should be less confusing now that the latest release has added scrollbars. The bars only appear while in motion, but they help you follow your location in the document.

Slides has gained tools for manipulating lines, shapes, and text boxes. You can insert, move, and rotate things around.

As for an update that affects all three apps, Google Drive has gained the ability to import ODF files (.odt, .ods, and .odp) into the respective apps. This GIF shows the feature on the web, but this presumably translates to the mobile version as well.

Update: It's now possible to search Drive by saying "OK Google, search for... on Drive." Google will decipher your command and open up the results inside of the Drive app.

You can also access custom maps created using Google My Maps.
