Each year, buying the current Galaxy Note device is an expensive undertaking. To own one off-contract, the damage done to your wallet is quite a lot to take in at once. AT&T, for example, wants around $800 to sell you this year's model. The most affordable way around this is to purchase last year's release. It's no less powerful than it was a couple of days ago, and aside from eventually reaching the end of its support period sooner than the newer version, it will satisfy most users just fine.

Today a new, black Galaxy Note 3 is going for $409.99 on eBay, a nice savings for a phone that usually goes for over $500. This handset is intended for use on AT&T's network, but since these ones are unlocked, you can take them elsewhere if your heart so desires.

To make things better, tax only applies in a single state: New York. The seller is willing to ship the phone out to most of North America, much of Europe, and various countries scattered elsewhere around the globe such as Brazil, Japan, and New Zealand.
