Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is here, and considering the company's absolutely dominant position in the "phablet" marketplace, it's likely to become one of the best-selling Android phones over the next year. That being the case, why not take a gander at Samsung's introductory video for its new flagship? The official introduction, or gadget porn if you will, is below.

As usual with Samsung's "trailers," the actual hardware isn't really the focus. The video does highlight the new metal frame, which some users have been waiting for years to see, and the basic specs get a quick look at the beginning. If you haven't been following along, that's a 5.7" SAMOLED screen, 2560x1440 resolution, 2.7Ghz Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor (for some variants, anyway), 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage on the base model, 3,220mAh battery, 3.7MP front cam, 16MP rear camera, yadda yadda.

But the video is much more interested in showing off the new features of Samsung's TouchWiz skin, including an impressive update to the multi-window mode with drag-and-drop features. The fact that it's got pretty people doing some very specific and happy things doesn't hurt.

Update: One more video, this one showing the S Pen for 2 minutes and 30 seconds:

Gear S

Then there's the Gear S, the company's new premium take on its Tizen-powered smartwatch. Special attention is given to the admittedly cool curved display, but what Samsung really wants to highlight is just how much functionality is crammed into the device. Technically it's a stand-alone phone, complete with a 3G connection and apps provided by Samsung's proprietary store. You'll notice a distinct lack of any Android hardware in this video, not even a Samsung tablet.

The video also offers a really good look at the form factor. Since the Gear S is designed to work without any external devices, the screen and guts together make it very big by watch standards. (The better to type on, my dear.) That makes it pretty chunky for men and absolutely huge for women - we're approaching Turanga Leela territory here. What do you think, smartwatch fans?

The Galaxy Note 4 and Gear S are scheduled to launch in October.
