LG announced the new G Pad tablets a while back, but they're still hard to come by in the US. However, the largest member of LG's new mid-range family is probably in stock at a Best Buy near you (or shipped), and it's pretty cheap at $250. It's no Shield Tablet, but no one would blame you for picking one up.

The LG G Pad 10.1 has a Snapdragon 400, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.4.2. The screen is only 1280x800, which is definitely less than ideal these days. On the plus side, the 8000mAh battery will probably last ages in this device.

I'm seeing the G Pad 10.1 listed as in stock at several Best Buy locations in my area with 3-5 day shipping to several more. They'll also put it in a box and send it to your door. The Shield Tablet will only be $50 more, but you have to wait like a week to buy it. Instant gratification, right?
