Wanna see something cool? Or, depending on your current location, hot? Then pop open the Google Now interface on your Android phone or tablet. The Weather card is a regular on the Now page, but you might see something new in there today if you have the recently updated stacked multi-city view showing, namely high and low temperatures values. Neat.

That's all there is, there isn't any more - check out the latest Search APK update, including device-wide "OK Google" activation, for more information. And if you're not seeing the highs and lows in your Google Now view, you should soon - Google is notorious for staged feature rollouts.

Thanks, Jonathan Mailloux!

Lots of weird information. The weather card has been around for as long as Google now has, this is the updated only ever single card.

It's always shown high and low temperatures for one city. The new multi city single card now shows highs and lows. I can see how that's a mouthful, but I clicked into this confused.

Yeah, this is only for the multi-city card. I'll have these fixed, not sure what happened.

    • http://thegumshoe.com/ Michael Crider

      Yeah, that was my mistake.

  • Peter

The "OK Google from any screen" now works for me in Australia too.

    • reg

      US english only though :(

      • Peter

yeah true. hopefully they include more regions soon.

  • Tony Romano

I still dont have OK Google from any screen. I had it on the L preview.

    • http://tmblr.5crat.ch/ Scratch

      I didn't have it on L...

I checked it just now, looks like I have it.
Have a cookie for reminding me ;D

  • Ajb.esquire

Sweet, "St-Hubert" and "Boucherville" like 10 minutes from where I grew up, ahhh home. :) Thanks for the nostalgia AP :D

    • Mayoo

And near where I live! (I sent the screenshot)

      • Ajb.esquire

Nice, great area, I live in Toronto now but grew up in Beloeil.

I'm currently live in Montreal! In very fun to see someone here that live in the same region

Just got "okay Google from every screen" in Canada as well. I'm doing my happy dance that I don't wait forever for a Google service

    • Alexei Watson

Do you know if it requires just the google now voice language to be english (US), or the entire system language?

      • Many99

I'm not sure since I've always had google voice in English US as well as in my system settings. mostly likely then not you would to need to have the voice setting on us english

      • Thiago

Working here on Brazil too. Google now language has to be english, but the system can be other languages.

        • Alexei Watson

Great, thanks. I've set google now language to US, now to wait for the magic to happen :)

    • AGoodM8

Nice. I'm also in Canada .. I actually got it to work on every screen several days ago. Unfortunately, I noticed that the "AudioIn" wakelock time shot upwards. No surprise, was just hoping it was less extreme.

In the meantime, dialed this feature down to only respond to OK Google on the app .. hopefully in a future update Google can figure out how to make it run more battery efficient with the fully fledged feature on.

      • Drago

If the screen is already on (which it should be), it doesn't matter really. That's a wake lock in itself.

Think of it as a free wake lock. We'd only have to worry about battery if this wake lock was happening when it was supposed to be asleep.

  • cmbeid

I had the OK Google from any screen last week, but then the option disappeared.

  • Guest

This didn't come out today. I've had the weather card show minimum and maximum temperature for over a week now. Guess it was a slow roll out in typical Google fashion.

    • Franco Rossel

Same here. Google is doing trollouts

      • moelsen8

        Trollouts, +1.

      • ddpacino

Trademark that one. I chuckled a little too hard.

I think I've had something like this come up now and then for actually a couple months now...

I've seen a few different versions pop-up come to think of it

  • r.dcs

Will Google ever do something with the app "News and Weather" ?

    • Sam Del Valle

You know when I ran L I forgot to look if that app was still alive.

      • Peter

yep it is still there. same old version too. it's a default app in AOSP.

  • Flux

... I think this post should be fixed.
I've had the weather card with both high and low temperature for -well- over 4 months now. (far longer actually. probably closer to 6 or 7 months, but I can remember at least 4 of the months)

    • CoreRooted

Not in the new, stacked format. The new format of the card only rolled out about a month ago.

      • Flux

... Who cares? The post clearly says "The Weather card has only been available for a little over a month."
Which is the information I stated as inaccurate.

  • Sahil Chaturvedi

How can I get multiple city's weather on my cards?

    • KERR

Travel there... or use an app like FakeGPS to trick it.

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Set your work location in another city.

      • Sahil Chaturvedi

But I already have a Work location set.

There's no way you can add another city, in the case you just wanna get updates on the weather of that city?

        • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Not to my knowledge, you'd need to be traveling to see this card otherwise.

  • zubsz

Hey AP, I think you guys should check this out. It helped me activate the ok Google everywhere option: http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-enable-ok-google-hotword-all-screens-399896/

    • http://www.androidpolice.com/ Artem Russakovskii

Those don't seem to be reliable and complete steps.

  • Drago

Darn. Google Search 3.5 broke the ability to activate it via the Bluetooth action button even when the screen is on.

Now all you get is the voice dialer. And here I was hoping this update would let me invoke Google Search from my Bluetooth headset even when the screen was off. Fix it, Google. Please.
